WeatherTech Super Bowl Ad Scores Big With Fans and Ad Watchers

30-second You Can't Do That spot draws post game attention

BOLINGBROOK, Ill., Feb. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Automotive floor mat manufacturer WeatherTech is getting rave reviews from their You Can't Do That 30-second spot that ran during the second quarter of Super Bowl XLVIII, February 2, from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The spot, produced by WeatherTech's long time marketing agency, Pinnacle Advertising, ran at the 12-minute mark of the second quarter of last night's Super Bowl.  The ad featured four actors proclaiming, "You Can't Do That" in America when it comes to manufacturing products, hiring workers, building facilities and marketing goods.

"We had a big party at our WeatherTech Retail Store, and it was a proud moment for everyone involved when 12-minutes into the second quarter the spot ran," David MacNeil, founder and CEO of WeatherTech said. "We are seeing a huge influx of support for our Made in America message as well as the appreciation from existing customers over social media about the quality, and how much they like our products. More amazing than the great response over social media is that we received a 5.58 response, 28th on the USA Today Ad Meter results. We finished ahead of some big companies with much larger budgets and brand names. That is a credit to everyone involved with this project, especially Pinnacle Advertising. I think we did a great job communicating our Made In America philosophy in 30-seconds. It is a little too early to see how it will affect our sales, but I like what I am seeing with the Internet and phone call traffic so far."

Publications like Fortune, CNN Money, Washington Post and the Atlantic speculate about what gadgets and technologies are going to take off in popularity this year, psychics predict which celebrities will have babies and fall in love, and I start to think about trends like DevOps and where the software delivery industry is headed next.CollabNet, Eric Robertson, predicted.
