Experienced Healthcare Team Launches Accord Health, a Forward-Looking Health Informatics and Process Improvement Consultancy

Experienced EHR Project Director and former hospital CFO Robert Johns announces the launch of Accord Health, Inc, a clinician-focused firm created to help providers achieve the highest quality-of-care outcomes under the new financial models.

Accord brings together a diverse team of experienced professionals with decades of leadership in healthcare delivery, process improvement, financial operations, information technology, marketing and professional development. Of note is Accord’s services guarantee – a healthcare consulting firm industry first.

Says Johns, Chief Executive Officer of Accord, "Healthcare organizations are in a critical period of transition. The foundation has been laid for clinical excellence, and many of the tools, technologies and processes are already in place. But as the industry faces new financial models and quality-of-care outcome requirements, too many providers are not yet realizing the benefits of these investments. Accord can help healthcare organizations use the right tools, the right way, at the right time and for the right cost — and with guaranteed results."

Johns has spent his entire four-decade career helping providers manage the waves of change that have buffeted US healthcare. Prior to launching Accord, Johns was a principal with a health informatics consulting firm focused on EHR optimization and value realization. He served for more than 15 years as an associate partner at IBM Healthlink Solutions and its predecessor, IMG. Earlier in his career, he served as a hospital CFO and an advisor to healthcare institutions with a “Big 4” accounting firm.

Johns launches Accord with a strong leadership team of healthcare consultants, many of whom have provider-side operations experience and clinical backgrounds. Dr. Mical DeBrow who directs Accord’s Health Analytics and Business Intelligence services spent the last decade at Siemens, most recently as managing director of healthcare intelligence advisory services.

‟Accord has brought together some of the smartest people in the healthcare industry today. The future of healthcare is here, and we’re excited about helping our clients make some of their biggest, most effective leaps ever,” said DeBrow.

Cherry Drulis who leads Accord’s Optimization and Transformation services is a clinician with 18 years’ experience as a medical director, chief nursing office and healthcare consulting.

"Throughout my career, I have been committed to identifying and implementing solutions that work. Our team is as technologically savvy as they are focused on clinician engagement and quality patient care,” said Drulis.

The leadership team is supported by a dozen advisors specializing in healthcare delivery, process improvement, financial operations, information technology, marketing and professional development.

Containers are all the rage among developers and web companies, but they also represent two very substantial benefits to larger organizations. First, they have the potential to dramatically accelerate the application lifecycle from software builds and testing to deployment and upgrades. Second they represent the first truly hybrid-approach to consuming infrastructure, allowing organizations to run the same workloads on any cloud, virtual machine or physical server. Together, they represent a ver...
As operational failure becomes more acceptable to discuss within the software industry, the necessity for holding constructive, actionable postmortems increases. Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome,” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.

IT data is typically silo'd by the various tools in place. Unifying all the log, metric and event data in one analytics platform stops finger pointing and provides the end-to-end correlation. Logs, metrics and custom event data can be joined to tell the holistic story of your software and operations. For example, users can correlate code deploys to system performance to application error codes.
Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds.
