There are considerable developments and technological advancements that occur mainly in the European and Asian regions. Also, the growing automotive production bases in Asia-Pacific are supported by firm economic conditions. These evolvements indicate the likely entry of new players, including transmission system component manufacturers and the backward integration of automobile manufacturers. As of 2012, the market has been identified with leading companies such as Volkswagen and Getrag for DCT and Honda and Jatco for CVT.
