The US District Court of the Southern District (Case No. 06-CV-1952 JLS (JMA)), on request of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), demands that involvement in the creation of checks for consumers and businesses by third parties and/or their products and services require adoption of certain FTC specified safeguards in order to avoid consumer harm. The FTC safeguards provide that users who want to create their own checks with check creation software supplied by third party publishers must validate the associated bank accounts and verify identity before checks drawn on the users’ bank accounts can be printed using the software. The applicable software publisher is required to affirmatively verify account control and identity of users before granting check creation permission using its software. In its latest ruling regarding this FTC matter, the District Court is urging enhanced recall efforts associated with non-FTC-compliant check creation software. Responding to this call, VersaCheck.com is offering users of Intuit QuickBooks, Quicken, Checksoft and G7 VersaCheck 2012 and earlier, a Free replacement software which provides DNA Secure™ check printing capabilities (Details at: https://www.gvalidate.com/web/DNACheckFeatures.aspx) and meets the FTC mandated safeguards. Users of the applicable software products are invited to visit http://www.Versacheck.com/recall-and-replace to receive the free upgrades and replacement of non-compliant check creation software.
The following products are subject to Free replacement with VersaCheck X1 Silver, Gold and Platinum at http://www.Versacheck.com/recall-and-replace
A. VersaCheck 2012 and earlier – All Versions
B. Quicken and QuickBooks – All Versions
C. Any other financial software with a check creation feature not requiring bank account validation and identity verification as mandated by the Court’s Order.
Users of the above software titles are entitled to Free VersaCheck X1 based on DNA Secure™ check technology. VersaCheck X1 Silver, Gold and Platinum software safeguards users from check fraud, provides real-time electronic transaction alerts and free online check verification. To visually differentiate DNA Secure™ checks and alert check recipients of available security measures online, VersaCheck X1 displays non-erasable contact information and instructions on each DNA Secure™ check to enable online verification of account validation status, assist in dispute enforcement and prevent unauthorized check payments and losses. The new system makes payments by checks safe and helps safeguard consumers and businesses from damage caused by unauthorized check creation or delivery.

Technology vendors and analysts are eager to paint a rosy picture of how wonderful IoT is and why your deployment will be great with the use of their products and services. While it is easy to showcase successful IoT solutions, identifying IoT systems that missed the mark or failed can often provide more in the way of key lessons learned. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Peter Vanderminden, Principal Industry Analyst for IoT & Digital Supply Chain to Flatiron Strategies, will focus on how IoT de...

Complete Internet of Things (IoT) embedded device security is not just about the device but involves the entire product’s identity, data and control integrity, and services traversing the cloud. A device can no longer be looked at as an island; it is a part of a system. In fact, given the cross-domain interactions enabled by IoT it could be a part of many systems. Also, depending on where the device is deployed, for example, in the office building versus a factory floor or oil field, security ha...

An IoT product’s log files speak volumes about what’s happening with your products in the field, pinpointing current and potential issues, and enabling you to predict failures and save millions of dollars in inventory. But until recently, no one knew how to listen. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Dan Gettens, Chief Research Officer at OnProcess, will discuss recent research by Massachusetts Institute of Technology and OnProcess Technology, where MIT created a new, breakthrough analytics model f...

"We have several customers now running private clouds. They're not as large as they should be but it's getting there. The adoption challenge has been pretty simple. Look at the world today of virtualization vs cloud," stated Nara Rajagopalan, CEO of Accelerite, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
