MATAWAN, N.J., Feb. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- iCIMS, Inc., a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) talent acquisition software solutions for growing businesses, proudly announces iCIMS Connect™ as a winner of the coveted 2013 Brandon Hall Group Bronze Award for excellence in the Best Advance in Talent Acquisition Technology category. This is the second Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award win for iCIMS, adding to its growing virtual trophy case, including recognition in 2013 for iCIMS Social Distribution in the Best Advance in Talent Acquisition Technology category.
"With the economy expected to grow by about 2.6% and 2.4 million net new jobs anticipated in 2014, companies are preparing to expand their workforce. In this climate, it's more important than ever for HR professionals to focus on creating talent pools to source from as positions become available," said iCIMS Chief Marketing Officer, Susan Vitale. "With iCIMS Connect, users can expand their recruitment efforts beyond active candidates and open requisitions and begin engaging passive candidates to build a sourcing pipeline for future hiring needs."
Launched in December 2012, iCIMS Connect's innovative features enable clients to appeal to candidates who may not be ready to apply for an employer's open positions, but are interested in the company's employment brand and want to keep in touch with the organization. Adoption of the new technology exceeded company projections; during the first year in market, new sales were double and sales to existing customers were triple company expectations. Early adopters of iCIMS' Connect Talent CRM technology include Watchfire Signs, Banner Health, and The Bon Ton Stores, Inc.
iCIMS Connect enables companies to showcase a fully branded Social Connect portal that passive candidates can use to submit some basic contact information and express interest in different functional, geographic and other talent pools. To streamline the process, candidates are given the option to submit their social media profile data (from LinkedIn, Facebook or Google+), a traditional resume or both, whether on a mobile device or a traditional laptop/PC. Passive candidates can choose to share as much information with the organization as they would like, such as their willingness to relocate and what department they would be interested in learning about for future job opportunities. Once in the system, HR professionals can use iCIMS Connect to stay in touch with these pools of passive candidates through automated, tailored email communications about company news, recruitment events, job opportunities and more. By maintaining an ongoing connection to a company's employment brand, candidates are in the best position to learn about upcoming opportunities that may be appropriate for them. Additionally, employers can build larger talent pools of "warm" candidates to reach out to as positions become available within their organization.
"As soon as I post a new job, I'm sending out a blanket email to anyone in warm or hot levels of engagement for the role," said iCIMS Connect user AnnMarie Cross, HR Manager at Watchfire Signs, a manufacturer headquartered in Danville, Illinois. "Connect has allowed us to remain in contact with great candidates that we couldn't place at the time that they initially expressed interest in our company. We've had great success mining our own database in this manner," concluded Cross.
"It is our honor to recognize this year's award winners, who exemplify the commitment to innovation and excellence that drives growth and over-the-top business results," said Mike Cooke, Chief Executive Officer of Brandon Hall Group.
Rachel Cooke, Chief Operating Office of Brandon Hall Group who runs the awards program, stated, "With the innovation and unique differentiators demonstrated in this year's entries, it is easy to see why these organizations are tremendously successful."
The entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group senior analysts and executive leadership based upon the following criteria:
- Breakthrough Product Innovation
- Most Unique Differentiators
- Strongest Value Proposition

With billions of sensors deployed worldwide, the amount of machine-generated data will soon exceed what our networks can handle. But consumers and businesses will expect seamless experiences and real-time responsiveness. What does this mean for IoT devices and the infrastructure that supports them? More of the data will need to be handled at - or closer to - the devices themselves.

In recent years, containers have taken the world by storm. Companies of all sizes and industries have realized the massive benefits of containers, such as unprecedented mobility, higher hardware utilization, and increased flexibility and agility; however, many containers today are non-persistent. Containers without persistence miss out on many benefits, and in many cases simply pass the responsibility of persistence onto other infrastructure, adding additional complexity.

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.

Back in February of 2017, Andrew Clay Schafer of Pivotal tweeted the following: “seriously tho, the whole software industry is stuck on deployment when we desperately need architecture and telemetry.” Intrigue in a 140 characters. For me, I hear Andrew saying, “we’re jumping to step 5 before we’ve successfully completed steps 1-4.”

All organizations that did not originate this moment have a pre-existing culture as well as legacy technology and processes that can be more or less amenable to DevOps implementation. That organizational culture is influenced by the personalities and management styles of Executive Management, the wider culture in which the organization is situated, and the personalities of key team members at all levels of the organization. This culture and entrenched interests usually throw a wrench in the work...
