Altegra Health’s HEDIS.com Solution Awarded NCQA Software Certification for 2014 HEDIS® Reporting Season

For the ninth consecutive year, Altegra Health, Inc., a leading provider of business, technology and consulting solutions for healthcare organizations, today announced that the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has issued its Software Certification for Altegra Health’s HEDIS.com Solution 2014.

The HEDIS.com Solution (www.hedis.com) is the engine that powers Altegra Health’s suite of Web-based HEDIS offerings called HEDIS Smart™. These offerings include certified rate reporting and analytics, hybrid medical record review and rate improvement opportunities all of which combine to enable health plans to effectively manage and optimize their overall HEDIS processes and reporting.

“HEDIS performance measures are more important than ever for health plans in today’s quality-centric healthcare environment, and Altegra Health’s HEDIS suite of solutions is a comprehensive platform for quality measurement, reporting and improvement,” said Kevin Barrett, president and chief executive officer of Altegra Health. “This year’s certification from the NCQA for the 2014 HEDIS reporting season demonstrates our company’s continued commitment to staying on the leading edge of HEDIS reporting standards.”

The HEDIS.com Solution includes the NCQA-certified engine and advanced tools for managing the complete HEDIS and quality measurement improvement process, including: DUET™ – a tool that maps, uploads and evaluates a health plan’s source data, allowing them to preserve their native data structure; HEDISLinx™ – a secure online portal that provides users with real-time access to both retrospective and prospective measures, metrics, rates and comparisons to plan targets so they can track, manage and improve their HEDIS scores year round; RISE™ – a module that provides a specialized process for systematically implementing rate improvement strategies; and the Star Module within HEDISLinx – a comprehensive Star Measure analysis module to view current, future and target Star performance. Separately, Altegra Health offers Hot Pursuit™, a fully integrated hybrid medical record review service, providing client partners a one-stop solution for all their HEDIS needs.

“Altegra Health’s quality measurement and reporting capabilities -- coupled with our company’s ability to incorporate data from risk adjustment activities -- provides greater insight into opportunities to improve the quality of care, increase the accuracy of risk scores, enhance plan revenue, and more effectively leverage member and provider engagement activities,” Barrett said.

All organizations that did not originate this moment have a pre-existing culture as well as legacy technology and processes that can be more or less amenable to DevOps implementation. That organizational culture is influenced by the personalities and management styles of Executive Management, the wider culture in which the organization is situated, and the personalities of key team members at all levels of the organization. This culture and entrenched interests usually throw a wrench in the work...
Consumers increasingly expect their electronic "things" to be connected to smart phones, tablets and the Internet. When that thing happens to be a medical device, the risks and benefits of connectivity must be carefully weighed. Once the decision is made that connecting the device is beneficial, medical device manufacturers must design their products to maintain patient safety and prevent compromised personal health information in the face of cybersecurity threats. In his session at @ThingsExpo...

Detecting internal user threats in the Big Data eco-system is challenging and cumbersome. Many organizations monitor internal usage of the Big Data eco-system using a set of alerts. This is not a scalable process given the increase in the number of alerts with the accelerating growth in data volume and user base. Organizations are increasingly leveraging machine learning to monitor only those data elements that are sensitive and critical, autonomously establish monitoring policies, and to detect...
You know you need the cloud, but you’re hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You’re looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you’re concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

Existing Big Data solutions are mainly focused on the discovery and analysis of data. The solutions are scalable and highly available but tedious when swapping in and swapping out occurs in disarray and thrashing takes place. The resolution for thrashing through machine learning algorithms and support nomenclature is through simple techniques. Organizations that have been collecting large customer data are increasingly seeing the need to use the data for swapping in and out and thrashing occurs ...
