SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 02/07/14 -- Kona Grill, Inc. (NASDAQ: KONA), an American grill and sushi bar, announced the opening of its newest restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas on February 6, 2014.
The new Kona Grill is located at 3028 Crockett Street, and sits at the highly trafficked West 7th Street, Camp Bowie Boulevard, and University Drive intersection, which are next to both the West 7th Street mixed-use urban development and the museum district, in the heart of Fort Worth's cultural district. "Yesterday we opened our latest Kona Grill in Fort Worth with great fanfare," said Berke Bakay, President and CEO. "From our unique aquarium to the rooftop bar, this is undoubtedly a beautiful restaurant, and we are proud that this restaurant exemplifies our polished-casual concept. We have high expectations for Kona Grill Fort Worth and are thrilled to bring our multi-daypart, multi-occasion experience to such a special cultural destination. This marks our second restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth market and sixth restaurant in Texas. The opening of Fort Worth represents our twenty-sixth restaurant location and kicks off our 2014 development program in earnest. With three Kona Grill restaurant openings in less than four months, we are making notable progress towards our goal to double our sales within five years. Our 2014 development schedule calls for at least three additional restaurants, with our next Kona Grill location planned for El Paso, TX."
Currently, Kona Grill has leases signed for new locations in El Paso, TX; Sarasota, FL; Alpharetta, GA; Miami, FL; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The timing of openings will vary based on a variety of factors, including landlord delivery of the building, permitting, construction and other factors, some of which may be beyond the Company's control.
