Today, February 8, Houston-area families are invited to join actress and mother Vanessa Williams (Melrose Place, New Jack City) for a special meet and greet, along with Colgate's volunteer core of dentists and hygienists, for complimentary dental screenings and oral care tips at the following Family Dollar locations:

According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, 34% of African-Americans have untreated cavities in comparison to 18% of non-Hispanic Whites.

In addition, Colgate and Family Dollar will host students from four local Houston Boys & Girls Clubs to create drawings that demonstrate what Black History Month means to them and Colgate products and Family Dollar gift cards will be awarded.
