LONDON, Feb. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With the most romantic day of the year rapidly approaching, toptable, the leading consumer destination site for restaurant bookings in the UK, along with its parent company, OpenTable (NASDAQ: OPEN), are pleased to reveal the 2014 Diners' Choice winners for the Top 20 Most Romantic Restaurants in the UK. These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 300,000 restaurant reviews submitted by verified toptable diners for approximately 4,000 restaurants across the UK.
"Diners can be certain that romance is always on the menu at each of these winning restaurants," said toptable Head of Restaurant Relations, Lucy Taylor.
"When it comes to Valentine's Day, the top restaurants fill up quickly so it is always best to book early. However, many diners still wait until the last minute and plenty of availability can be found on toptable in our round-up of Valentine's day specials," she added.
The Diners' Choice awards for the Top 20 Most Romantic Restaurants in the UK are generated from more than 300,000 restaurant reviews collected from verified toptable diners from January to December 2013. All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant's average rating in the "romantic" category along with a minimum "overall" rating.
