NGDATA™, the customer experience management solutions company, today announced that its customer Telenet, Belgium’s largest cable provider and part of the Liberty Global group, has achieved marked improvements in customer relationship management resulting from targeted marketing campaigns. These improvements are key contributing factors to Telenet being recognized as the Industry Group Leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the second straight year.
“The ability to perform multi-channel CRM is an important skill for building sustainable long term relationships with customers,” said Bert Van Driessche, Director of CRM and Consumer Intelligence at Telenet. “With the expertise of NGDATA, our CRM department has undergone a complete transformation, evolving from a business unit that merely provided customer listings, into a key business support unit. Our CRM department now exists at the center of all our inbound and outbound customer interactions, sharing real, actionable business intelligence and insights to other departments, executing hundreds of targeted campaigns on a yearly basis in support of our marketing vision.”
Working with NGDATA to develop and roll out targeted, customized campaigns has helped Telenet transition from an acquisition-driven marketing organization to a customer focused organization, fostering loyalty and reducing churn with innovative and simplified product experiences and proactive care. Furthermore, Telenet’s CRM department achieved a rating in the 93rd percentile as measured by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. As a result, Telenet is able to target the right customer at the right time with the right offer via a multitude of channels, improving customer satisfaction while generating customer value and upsell and cross sell opportunities for additional revenue. Targeted campaigns delivered by NGDATA have resulted in:
- Increased Segmented Campaigns: Prior to working with NGDATA, Telenet ran 100 campaigns per year; now the company runs more than 750 per year, delivering content more appropriate to each customer segment;
- Increased Return Rate on Sales Campaigns: Campaigns have seen a 300-400% uptake in return rate;
- CRM supporting a successful “King and Kong” Campaign: A pricing and go-to-market strategy that quadrupled Telenet’s mobile customer base within just a few months of its availability.
“Customers like Telenet, which have millions of interactions with customers each month, have a lot to gain from distilling those inbound and outbound interactions into actionable data to develop a sophisticated, nuanced understanding of what each customer wants,” said Luc Burgelman, CEO at NGDATA. “As Belgium’s largest cable provider, customer loyalty and satisfaction play critical roles in Telenet’s success. We are proud of the role we play to help the company bring to market targeted campaigns that result in increased market share and revenue.”
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index measures the sustainability and performance of companies from 59 industries, selecting a best-in-class leader for each of the 25 Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) industry groups. Telenet was recognized as the industry leader in the Media Industry Group.

Without a clear strategy for cost control and an architecture designed with cloud services in mind, costs and operational performance can quickly get out of control. To avoid multiple architectural redesigns requires extensive thought and planning. Boundary (now part of BMC) launched a new public-facing multi-tenant high resolution monitoring service on Amazon AWS two years ago, facing challenges and learning best practices in the early days of the new service. Extracting business value from Internet of Things (IoT) data doesn’t happen overnight. There are several requirements that must be satisfied, including IoT device enablement, data analysis, real-time detection of complex events and automated orchestration of actions. Unfortunately, too many companies fall short in achieving their business goals by implementing incomplete solutions or not focusing on tangible use cases. In his general session at @ThingsExpo, Dave McCarthy, Director of Products...

Regulatory requirements exist to promote the controlled sharing of information, while protecting the privacy and/or security of the information. Regulations for each type of information have their own set of rules, policies, and guidelines. Cloud Service Providers (CSP) are faced with increasing demand for services at decreasing prices. Demonstrating and maintaining compliance with regulations is a nontrivial task and doing so against numerous sets of regulatory requirements can be daunting task...

Fact: storage performance problems have only gotten more complicated, as applications not only have become largely virtualized, but also have moved to cloud-based infrastructures. Storage performance in virtualized environments isn’t just about IOPS anymore. Instead, you need to guarantee performance for individual VMs, helping applications maintain performance as the number of VMs continues to go up in real time. In his session at Cloud Expo, Dhiraj Sehgal, Product and Marketing at Tintri, sha...

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators. Unfortunately, comparatively few of the devices currently deployed have been developed with an eye toward security, and as the DDoS attacks of late October 2016 have demonstrated, this oversight can ...

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...

When it comes to cloud computing, the ability to turn massive amounts of compute cores on and off on demand sounds attractive to IT staff, who need to manage peaks and valleys in user activity. With cloud bursting, the majority of the data can stay on premises while tapping into compute from public cloud providers, reducing risk and minimizing need to move large files. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Scott Jeschonek, Director of Product Management at Avere Systems, discussed the IT and busin...
