Famigo, a company providing safe experiences for children on mobile devices, is furthering momentum toward becoming the standard for family and child approved content. The company today announced that LG G Flex phones on the AT&T network as well as select 2015 Chevrolet automobiles will include a Famigo pre-installed application.
Famigo today also announced general iOS availability. Already available as a monthly subscription for Android, the expansion to LG devices and iOS enables families with access to Famigo’s safe mobile content.
“We’re excited that our safe network for children’s mobile content is reaching a wider network than ever before,” said Famigo CEO and co-founder Q Beck. “Larger impact means that more kids can safely have fun on mobile devices. Famigo’s continued traction across networks and devices indicates that the demand for a new way of consuming mobile content is just getting started. We’re pleased to meet that demand, and innovate further to provide families with what they need.”
The recently released LG G Flex phone, with its curved screen, is already receiving rave reviews for its display capabilities. The G Flex model is particularly an attractive option for viewing family content, as children can safely enjoy the appeal of the curved design and excellent battery life, ideal for movies.
According to Gartner, global smartphone sales grew by 46.5% in the last quarter of 2013, placing the devices in the hands of more families than ever before. As cable TV subscriptions continue to fall - and as an increasing number of new cars come with touchscreens - parents are looking for alternative, digital sources of content for their children. By providing quality, curated, COPPA-compliant mobile content, from educational games to TV shows, Famigo is rapidly emerging as a media platform of choice for brands aiming to provide family approved content.
