Guidance Software Introduces Three New Hardware Modules for the Tableau TD3 Forensic Imaging System to Increase Ease of Use, Value, and Performance

Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, announced today the availability of three new hardware modules for its Tableau™ TD3 forensic imaging system. The TDS2 SATA HDD Enclosure, the TDPX8-RW USB 3.0 output expansion module, and the TDPXE Dual-Port Gigabit Ethernet module readily connect to the Tableau TD3 system and extend its capabilities and performance for investigators.

Used by digital forensic investigation teams inside local and national law-enforcement agencies around the world, the Tableau TD3 is unique among forensic imaging tools with its modular design and high-resolution touch-screen user interface. The three new hardware modules for the forensic imager are:

  • The TDS2 SATA HDD Enclosure, which enables convenient, “tool-free” SATA hard drive insertion and removal. Two TDS2 units can be connected for “twinning” applications during forensic imaging.
  • The TDPX8-RW USB 3.0 Output Expansion Module, which offers a convenient, high-performance means of directing TD3 output to USB 3.0 storage devices.
  • The TDPXE Dual-Port Gigabit Ethernet Module, delivering improved network performance along with two separate Ethernet connections.

“The digital investigators who have made our Tableau products the standard in the industry need greater connectivity and performance to keep pace with their rising caseloads and the constant introduction of new digital devices that are relevant to investigations,” said Jim Borecki, Vice President of the Forensic Business Unit for Guidance Software. “Our Tableau TD3 and these new hardware modules offer them highly useful new evidence output and storage options.”

Tableau products are available exclusively through authorized resellers. More information is available at www.encase.com/tableau.

Both SaaS vendors and SaaS buyers are going “all-in” to hyperscale IaaS platforms such as AWS, which is disrupting the SaaS value proposition. Why should the enterprise SaaS consumer pay for the SaaS service if their data is resident in adjacent AWS S3 buckets? If both SaaS sellers and buyers are using the same cloud tools, automation and pay-per-transaction model offered by IaaS platforms, then why not host the “shrink-wrapped” software in the customers’ cloud? Further, serverless computing, cl...

IoT solutions exploit operational data generated by Internet-connected smart “things” for the purpose of gaining operational insight and producing “better outcomes” (for example, create new business models, eliminate unscheduled maintenance, etc.). The explosive proliferation of IoT solutions will result in an exponential growth in the volume of IoT data, precipitating significant Information Governance issues: who owns the IoT data, what are the rights/duties of IoT solutions adopters towards t...
