ATLANTA, Feb. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (www.prsageorgia.org) will hold its annual collegiate conference, Real World PR 2014, in Atlanta on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.
What is Real World PR? It's a daylong event that brings together more than 150 communications students from the Southeast and beyond.
The conference gives students a peek into their post-collegiate life to enjoy career-advancing activities such as informative workshops, a career expo, resume critiques and multiple networking opportunities. There are professional seminars, exhibitor booths and interactive presentations and the students are exposed to useful, timely information to complement the lessons learned in the classroom.
Students also have the opportunity to network throughout the day with the Atlanta-based public relations professionals and sponsors who attend the event as well as more than 150 professionals at the luncheon. PR pros are interspersed with the students at round tables to welcome the students and encourage interaction. For professionals, Real World is an excellent chance to identify top PR students for internships or entry-level positions.
For students, Real World PR offers break-out sessions including:
- Corporate World, Agency or Non-profits?
- PR Niches
- Personal branding, social media and working/life balance
- Crisis Management: Navigating a Crisis via Digital & Social Media
- Secrets from the HR Gatekeepers: Get the interview, land the job
- I've Graduated and/or Landed the Job, Now What?
- Today's Media Relations 101 (Traditional & Social): Breaking through the clutter
- Entertainment, Sports & Lifestyle PR: Unplugged
