Zion & Zion Marks Ten Years of Growth With New Brand, New Building

TEMPE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 02/14/14 -- Zion & Zion (@ZIONandZION), one of Arizona's highest ranked public relations, social media, online marketing and advertising agencies, has never been one to follow the traditional agency model. From its flat management structure to its early adoption of social media, after a decade of consistent quarter over quarter growth and never a single layoff, Zion & Zion is taking innovation to a new level by combining the latest in technology, architecture, and design, to create a cohesive new brand that lives through its physical space and its people.

As part of the planning process, Zion & Zion conducted workshops with A-I-R [Architecture-Infrastructure-Research] Inc. founders Darren Petrucci, former head of The Design School at Arizona State University (ASU), and Philip Horton, faculty associate in the School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture at ASU. A-I-R's research was focused on identifying what has made Zion & Zion so successful, so as to ensure that the new space supported and enhanced the agency's culture.

That information was incorporated into the office design while working with the architects of the new Zion & Zion building, Architekton. The Architekton team worked hand in hand with Aric and DuGué Zion as well as the entire Zion & Zion agency staff to create the look and feel of the office, including how visual and physical aspects of the new Zion & Zion branding would pervade the space.

"Just as the company has evolved from a two person shop to an office of over 30 employees, we felt the Zion & Zion brand itself needed an evolution in keeping with our spirit," said Aric Zion. "The re-launch of the brand was purposeful in highlighting the innovative nature of our culture within the new office space and in reinforcing our continued dedication to the Zion & Zion mantra: Where Business Meets Creative."

The new Zion & Zion logo was specifically designed with two aspects in mind; a visual reflection of the two Z's within the company name, and more importantly, a representation of how the agency's philosophy brings both business acumen and creative thinking together -- as one -- in serving its clients and their business needs. This concept is even reflected in the building design, incorporating a visual representation of the intersection of "business" and "creative" as a 10 degree line that cuts through the office from the ceiling to the desks to the floors. The new branding is also reflected in the agency's new website.

On Jan. 20, Zion & Zion officially moved into the new 14,000 square foot facility which features two levels of office space designed with collaboration in mind; from the open concept work areas, to the five distinct conference rooms, to the additional four informal meeting spaces, to aptly named "Intersect" -- a recreation area with a pool table, arcade game, life-size Jenga to a dartboard and 14 foot long shuffle board. Additional employee perks include two full-size kegerators, a wine fridge, and a fully equipped kitchen and a surround sound movie theatre. Visiting clients will also have use of client hoteling stations complete with touch screen computer.

The true shine of this state-of-the-art office is the technology integration, unrivaled by any agency in Arizona. All conference rooms offer video conferencing capability. Touch screens up to 80 inches can be found throughout the office; and a 16 foot wide media display wall features agency campaigns and the results those campaigns have achieved for the agency's clients. In addition, every one of the new office's nine collaborative spaces is managed with touch screen room wizards, allowing ad hoc booking and availability status at a glance -- all tied into the central room reservation system. The Café offers a high definition projector with surround sound for larger groups (up to 75) as well as a 200 square foot chalkboard featuring typography from Zion & Zion's creative team. To keep the office running smooth for years to come, the information technology infrastructure was also updated to include redundant servers, six layers of data redundancy, a 50TB storage area network and real-time off-site data backups -- eliminating the need for physical pick up of data. To protect it all, the office was equipped with a high end security and climate control system that can be administered via iPhone app.
