With Upcoming Election Facing Questions, Challenger Steven Goldberg Launches Website Exposing Leader's Financial Gain and Mismanagement of Oldest Pro-Israel Organization in America

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The following can be attributed to Steven Goldberg: The Zionist Organization of America, the oldest pro-Israel organization in the U.S., is facing a major shakeup. Steven Goldberg, a Los Angeles attorney and the ZOA's National Vice Chairman, has launched an aggressive campaign for the Presidency of the ZOA, in the wake of what he describes as "years of excessive financial gain and mismanagement" by current President, Mort Klein. Goldberg has launched a whistleblowing website – www.mortklein.com – in order to shine a bright light on Klein's record.

www.mortklein.com includes information about how Klein came to be ranked as the number three most-overpaid executive in the Jewish non-profit world. A recent study released by the prestigious Wharton School revealed that Klein has been earning "93% more than the predicted salary for an organization [of ZOA's] size." Public documents also reveal that in one year alone, 2008, Klein earned $1,245,851.  In 2009, Klein earned another $717,700.

Mort Klein took his extraordinary salary as ZOA's donations and donor base faced significant decline. More importantly, the ZOA failed to file its legally required tax returns with the IRS, called Form 990s, as Klein saw to receiving a 38% boost in salary. The ZOA was thereafter stripped of its status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization after failing to file its Form 990s for 3 consecutive years.

Klein allegedly suppressed disclosure of the ZOA's loss of non-profit status and ordered employees to likewise withhold information on the matter from donors and organizational leaders. One employee who blew the whistle was fired by Klein. That employee has now sued both the ZOA and Klein.  It is not the first time Klein's abuse of employees has resulted in litigation against the ZOA.

In an effort to ensure reelection in ZOA's upcoming elections, Klein has moved ZOA's national convention from New York to Philadelphia, where he resides. Klein is also dictating that ZOA delegates must travel to Philadelphia to vote in person, and has unilaterally ruled out absentee balloting, voting by proxy, or voting by e-mail submission.  The result is that the election will exclude the vast majority of ZOA members, while ensuring a majority turn out of Klein's personal friends.

"I believe the ZOA can be much bigger, stronger and more effective than it is under Mort Klein's leadership. ZOA's resources need to be invested fighting for Israel and America, not enriching a President who has brought the organization and its legitimacy to the brink of collapse," said opposition candidate Steven Goldberg. "I propose that the ZOA engage in a complete reorganization and look to vastly increase its outreach to young people, engagement in political action and embark on a 21st century pro-Israel public relations campaign. After 20 years of Klein, the ZOA can only be saved by an immediate change of leadership," Goldberg concluded. DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? Certainly the fog layer of IoT requires special insights about data ontology, security and transactional integrity. But the developmental challenges are the same: People, Process and Platform. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Craig Sproule, CEO of Metavine, demonstrated how to move beyond today's coding paradigm and shared the must-have mindsets for removing complexity from the develop...

The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. But… securing CICD best practices is an emerging, essential, yet little understood practice for DevOps teams and their Cloud Service Providers. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.
"Evatronix provides design services to companies that need to integrate the IoT technology in their products but they don't necessarily have the expertise, knowledge and design team to do so," explained Adam Morawiec, VP of Business Development at Evatronix, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held Oct 31 – Nov 2, 2017, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Real-time adjustments to improve revenues, reduce costs, or mitigate risk rely on applications that minimize latency on a variety of data sources. In his session at @BigDataExpo, Jack Norris, Senior Vice President, Data and Applications at MapR Technologies, reviewed best practices to ...
Widespread fragmentation is stalling the growth of the IIoT and making it difficult for partners to work together. Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Now that design CAD teams are geographically distributed, centralizing their work is key. With large multi-gigabyte projects, outdated tools have stifled industrial team agility, time-to-market milestones, and impacted P&L stakeholders.

Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder. Kubernetes offers several constructs to help implement segmentation and isolation. However, these primitives can be complex to understand and apply. As a result, it’s becoming common for enterprises to end up with several clusters. Thi...
