ABOUT DOMAINE PORTO CARRAS

Domaine Porto Carras is the largest organic vineyard in Greece with 475 hectares (1,174 acres). The hilly areas in the region create excellent ecological conditions for cultivating the 28 local and foreign varieties that thrive on the southwestern slopes. Celebrating its 50th anniversary with more than 90 awards earned over the last 8 years and revolutionary wine-making history, Domaine Porto Carras represents a turning point in Greek enology. Its location is a valley that was chosen to be hidden from the public, both from the road and the sea, thereby protecting the beautiful landscape for generations. The father of modern wine-making, University of Bordeaux Professor Emile Peynaud, assisted in developing the first Greek Cabernet Sauvignon. Ideally adapted to the chalky and schistose soils of the domaine, Porto Carras' Cabernet has won many awards internationally.
