How This Helps You

Order Manager has been completely re-designed, based on user feedback, and now includes the following features to help users streamline order workflows:

    • Re-designed Active orders section that allows for a streamlined workflow for faxing, printing and submitting orders.
    • New Results Pending section that allows the clinic to track pending orders and to relate test results to the original order.
    • New Order History tab that contains a complete history of orders placed within the patient's Order Manager.
    • New All Pending Orders report that compiles a list of the clinic's pending orders for all patients.

How This Helps MU Requirements

Order Manager will be used by Stage 2 eligible professionals to meet the Meaningful Use measures for:

    • CPOE for Laboratory and Radiology Orders
    • Summary of Care

  • Vital Signs

How This Helps You

Users are now able to designate a specific patient chart to use the English or Metric system instead of the system default unit system.  This will allow a clinic to designate the use of the Metric system for pediatric patients to record vitals while still continuing the English system for adult patients.

How This Helps MU Requirements

This feature was added to meet the Meaningful Use ONC 2014 Edition Test Script 170.314(a)(4) Vital Signs, Body Mass Index, and Growth Charts, that requires the EHR to allow for selecting and displaying the desired unit system for an individual patient.

  • Demographic Multi-Select Race

How This Helps You

Users will now be able to select multiple races per patient to more accurately represent patient demographics.

How This Helps MU Requirements

This feature was added to help eligible professionals meet the core Measure 3: Record Demographics. This feature also helps meet the Meaningful Use ONC 2014 Edition Test Script 170.314(a)(3) Demographics Ambulatory and Inpatient Setting that requires the EHR to, "identify the EHR function(s) that are available to record more than one race for a patient."

  • Registry Submission Improvements

How This Helps You

In order to connect with registries and transfer data electronically, continued progress was made by adding several features to improve the submission process to immunization and syndromic surveillance registries. These features include:

    • Ability to record a patient's maiden name
    • Ability to indicate a patient's next of kin
    • Ability to record detailed data for immunization such as the status, route, vaccinator and more
    • Ability to create and manage the clinic's registries
    • Ability to record patient-specific registry information such as vaccine reminder method, registry consent, and more
    • Ability to record patient class when submitting syndromic surveillance data
    • Expanded HL7 to include additional data upon registry submission

How This Helps MU Requirements

These features were added to help eligible professionals meet the Core Measure 16: Immunization Registries Data Submission and the Menu Set Measure 1: Syndromic Surveillance Data Submission. These features also will help meet the Meaningful Use ONC 2014 Edition Test Scripts for 170.314(f)(1) Immunization information & 170.314(f)(2) Transmission to immunization registries.

You know you need the cloud, but you’re hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You’re looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you’re concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

Detecting internal user threats in the Big Data eco-system is challenging and cumbersome. Many organizations monitor internal usage of the Big Data eco-system using a set of alerts. This is not a scalable process given the increase in the number of alerts with the accelerating growth in data volume and user base. Organizations are increasingly leveraging machine learning to monitor only those data elements that are sensitive and critical, autonomously establish monitoring policies, and to detect...

Because IoT devices are deployed in mission-critical environments more than ever before, it’s increasingly imperative they be truly smart. IoT sensors simply stockpiling data isn’t useful. IoT must be artificially and naturally intelligent in order to provide more value In his session at @ThingsExpo, John Crupi, Vice President and Engineering System Architect at Greenwave Systems, will discuss how IoT artificial intelligence (AI) can be carried out via edge analytics and machine learning techn...
With tough new regulations coming to Europe on data privacy in May 2018, Calligo will explain why in reality the effect is global and transforms how you consider critical data. EU GDPR fundamentally rewrites the rules for cloud, Big Data and IoT. When shopping for a new data processing platform for IoT solutions, many development teams want to be able to test-drive options before making a choice. Yet when evaluating an IoT solution, it’s simply not feasible to do so at scale with physical devices. Building a sensor simulator is the next best choice; however, generating a realistic simulation at very high TPS with ease of configurability is a formidable challenge. When dealing with multiple application or transport protocols, you would be...
An increasing number of companies are creating products that combine data with analytical capabilities. Running interactive queries on Big Data requires complex architectures to store and query data effectively, typically involving data streams, an choosing efficient file format/database and multiple independent systems that are tied together through custom-engineered pipelines. Existing Big Data solutions are mainly focused on the discovery and analysis of data. The solutions are scalable and highly available but tedious when swapping in and swapping out occurs in disarray and thrashing takes place. The resolution for thrashing through machine learning algorithms and support nomenclature is through simple techniques. When you focus on a journey from up-close, you look at your own technical and cultural history and how you changed it for the benefit of the customer. This was our starting point: too many integration issues, 13 SWP days and very long cycles. It was evident that in this fast-paced industry we could no longer afford this reality. We needed something that would take us beyond reducing the development lifecycles, CI and Agile methodologies. We made a fundamental difference, even changed our culture...
