MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS – DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq:DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with Huawei, a leading provider of telecom solutions to the global mobile market, to include DTS Sound within select Huawei tablets, starting with the X1 and M1 models in the MediaPad product line.
DTS Sound maximizes the acoustic power of Huawei’s new tablets, providing crystal-clear, high-definition audio for watching videos, listening to music, playing games or streaming content. The embedded audio solution also creates a surround sound effect that delivers depth and dimensionality, enhancing the overall entertainment experience of all content types on these devices.
“With the number of people consuming entertainment content on tablets rapidly growing, we set out to design our latest MediaPad products to provide customers with an entertainment experience that is second to none,” said Mr. Shaoyang, chief marketing officer of Huawei. “By working with the experts at DTS to incorporate DTS Sound technology into our MediaPad X1 and M1 tablets, we are able to deliver products that provide a stellar overall entertainment experience, complete with high-quality audio.”
“Audio, especially on mobile devices, is one of, if not the most important, elements of the entire entertainment experience,” said George Wu, general manager, China region at DTS. “DTS Sound is a great solution for increasing the performance output of the tiny audio systems found in smartphones and tablets. By incorporating DTS Sound into their new MediaPad products, Huawei is able to provide its MediaPad customers the ability to enjoy content with rich immersive surround sound, directly from their tablet’s built-in speakers, or over headphones.”
