Affirmed Networks, the leader in the virtualization of mobile networks, will be demonstrating its Mobile Content Cloud™ solution for a Virtualized Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) with HP at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
Affirmed Networks will leverage HP’s BladeSystem c7000 enclosure and the DL380 system to showcase how its unique technology can fully virtualize mobile data networks to deliver multiple network functions and services, while providing industry-leading performance and resiliency with cost-effective provisioning. Central to the Affirmed Mobile Content Cloud solution are unique service orchestration capabilities that significantly enhance mobile operators’ ability to accelerate the pace of creating, delivering, and generating revenue from new data services, while dramatically lowering the operational cost of launching these services.
“We are very proud to demonstrate our vEPC solution with an industry leader like HP,” said Hassan Ahmed, Chairman and CEO of Affirmed Networks. “Combining Affirmed’s virtualized software architecture with HP’s high performance BladeSystem creates a truly powerful solution that empowers mobile operators to rapidly create and launch unique services for their enterprise and end user customers. Affirmed and HP together are driving the frontiers of virtualization in the mobile space by bringing the NFV vision to fruition with real and deployable products into carrier networks today.”
The HP BladeSystem c7000 enclosure and the DL380 system consolidate server, storage, networking and power management into a single solution that can be managed as a unified environment. The HP BladeSystem c7000 enclosure provides all the power, cooling, and I/O infrastructure needed to support modular server, interconnect, and storage components today and throughout the next several years.
“With vEPC, mobile operators are able to gain speed in time to market to get new solutions up and running faster, which optimizes revenue streams,” said Werner Schaefer, Vice President of Network Functions Virtualization at HP. “The Virtualized Evolved Packet Core demo showcases how vEPC will bring customers the desired network agility in a simple and cost effective way.”
Affirmed Networks will be performing demonstrations at HP’s booth in Hall 3, Stand 3A20 from February 24 – 27 during normal show hours. Additionally, Affirmed Networks will be meeting with interested parties, including industry analysts and press in meeting room 2E23MR.
