- Enterprise Solution for System Integrators Across Retail, Banking, Building and Airport Security
eInfochips, a leader in product design services, today unveiled Vigil360 - Industry's first customizable white-box surveillance Video Management Software (VMS). The solution will enable customized, application-specific VMS IPs that are owned by our customers. In addition to complete flexibility on product features, Vigil360 provides a customized and economical alternative to expensive licensing for VMS applications. It also provides a platform for an industry or application specific VMS intellectual property as a client-branded solution.
"Custom systems are the next frontier for surveillance deployments. While airport surveillance systems are security centric, leading retailers today use surveillance systems to track foot-falls, store navigation and check-out queues to aid operational decisions. These benefits of data-driven store layouts are of course, in addition to pilferage tracking." said Frank Berry, Senior Analyst at IT Brand Pulse.
Vigil360™ is compatible with thousands of IP camera designs from leading vendors with Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) standard support. It also has key features for video analytics, configuration management and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) control. It can be retrofit to existing surveillance systems and will support IP-based NVR/DVR devices. Clients can integrate Vigil360 to many other systems, including access control units, PoS products and vehicle telemetry.
"Being an engineering services company, our approach is solutions centric and hence quite economical compared to upfront and annual licensing requirements." said Parag Mehta, CMO at eInfochips. He added - "A partnership with eInfochips will empower system integrators to develop custom VMS IP of their own, that differentiates them in the marketplace."
eInfochips will showcase the Vigil360 software on booth #6141 at ISC West 2014 April 2-4.
Changing the Dynamics of the Video Management Market
To break free from expensive enterprise software license fees, Global 2000 companies are making an epic transition to leverage open source frameworks. The 'One Size Fits All' approach of Video Surveillance management systems approach is being challenged by custom intelligent VMS tools to suit deployment-specific scenarios. With the Vigil360 IP, System Integrators can not only pick and choose their VMS IP feature set (and roadmap) but also create a unique and exclusive software flavor that is branded for them. As a solution, eInfochips provides the Vigil360 VMS framework to accelerate deployment and takes complete responsibility of providing the customization and enhancement for each client variant.
Vigil360 White Box Video Management Software IP
Vigil360 supports ONVIF interfaces for Profile S, and can stream content from 100 cameras for a single server installation. The software supports video analytics algorithms like motion detection, privacy mask etc. for intelligent systems. It has a responsive UI design with features like instant playback, scheduled camera presets, map-view and control, rapid search and index and user authorization management, among others. Video playback can be time-sync'd between screens to get a complete picture for the user.
Vigil360 is currently under pilot deployment and evaluation by major global corporations and solution providers.

The cloud. Like a comic book superhero, there seems to be no problem it can’t fix or cost it can’t slash. Yet making the transition is not always easy and production environments are still largely on premise. Taking some practical and sensible steps to reduce risk can also help provide a basis for a successful cloud transition. A plethora of surveys from the likes of IDG and Gartner show that more than 70 percent of enterprises have deployed at least one or more cloud application or workload. Y...

Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.

Discussions of cloud computing have evolved in recent years from a focus on specific types of cloud, to a world of hybrid cloud, and to a world dominated by the APIs that make today's multi-cloud environments and hybrid clouds possible. In this Power Panel at 17th Cloud Expo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists addressed the importance of customers being able to use the specific technologies they need, through environments and ecosystems that expose their APIs to make true ...

Microservices are a very exciting architectural approach that many organizations are looking to as a way to accelerate innovation. Microservices promise to allow teams to move away from monolithic "ball of mud" systems, but the reality is that, in the vast majority of organizations, different projects and technologies will continue to be developed at different speeds. How to handle the dependencies between these disparate systems with different iteration cycles? Consider the "canoncial problem"...

The Internet of Things is clearly many things: data collection and analytics, wearables, Smart Grids and Smart Cities, the Industrial Internet, and more. Cool platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel's Galileo and Edison, and a diverse world of sensors are making the IoT a great toy box for developers in all these areas. In this Power Panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists discussed what things are the most important, which will have the most profound...

In today's enterprise, digital transformation represents organizational change even more so than technology change, as customer preferences and behavior drive end-to-end transformation across lines of business as well as IT. To capitalize on the ubiquitous disruption driving this transformation, companies must be able to innovate at an increasingly rapid pace. Traditional approaches for driving innovation are now woefully inadequate for keeping up with the breadth of disruption and change facin...

I recently attended and was a speaker at the 4th International Internet of @ThingsExpo at the Santa Clara Convention Center. I also had the opportunity to attend this event last year and I wrote a blog from that show talking about how the “Enterprise Impact of IoT” was a key theme of last year’s show. I was curious to see if the same theme would still resonate 365 days later and what, if any, changes I would see in the content presented.

Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds. Manual security compliance is slow, prone to human error, and represents over 50% of the cost of managing cloud applications. Determining how to automate cloud security compliance is critical...

Just over a week ago I received a long and loud sustained applause for a presentation I delivered at this year’s Cloud Expo in Santa Clara. I was extremely pleased with the turnout and had some very good conversations with many of the attendees. Over the next few days I had many more meaningful conversations and was not only happy with the results but also learned a few new things. Here is everything I learned in those three days distilled into three short points.
