report to their offering.
Breath Analyzers are the devices that are used for estimating blood alcohol content through an exhaled breath. These devices were first introduced in 1940's for alcohol detection, however enhancements in research and development has expanded the usage of breath testing devices in the healthcare sector for diagnosis. These devices work on the principle of measurement of gases and compounds in an exhaled breath even at a lower concentration (in parts per million or billion). Breath analysis is gaining importance owing to its non-invasive, quick and accurate diagnostic features available as compared to blood tests. Therefore, technological advances in healthcare sector coupled with increasing demand for rapid diagnosis are some of the major factors that are driving the growth of this market. Additionally, rising public awareness and increasing demand for non-invasive diagnostic tools has fueled the growth of this market.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 2.5 million people die annually across the globe owing to excessive alcohol consumption. Similarly, 20% of the fatally injured drivers in the developed countries are found to have high blood alcohol content. This rise in number of road accidents owing to excessive alcohol consumption has created a demand for alcohol detection devices consequently boosting the overall growth of this industry. Owing to potential advantages of breath analyzers various manufacturers and academic institutions are aiming to develop breath analysis devices for the detection of several diseases such as asthma, tuberculosis and others. The global breath analysis market was valued at USD 402.1 million in 2012 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 41.3% from 2013 - 2019 to reach at an estimated value of USD 4,518.4 million in 2019.
Currently, fuel cell technology accounts for the largest share of the breath analyzers market. The growth in this segment has been attributed to various factors such as accuracy, reliability and portability of the devices. This market is followed by infrared absorption technology that is particularly suited for desktop evidential breath analyzer machines. Tuberculosis detection is expected to witness a significant growth and emerge as the fastest growing segment during the forecast period. The growth in this segment is witnessed due to increasing incidences of tuberculosis and increasing demand for quick and non-invasive screening tool.
Geographically, North America accounted for the largest share of the global breath analyzers market in 2012. The dominance in this region is observed owing to presence of large population base addicted to excessive alcohol consumption leading to stringent government policies mandating the usage of alcohol testing devices at work places. This region is followed by Europe and Asia-Pacific. The Asia-Pacific region is expected to witness the highest growth during the forecast period from 2013 to 2019. The demand for breath analyzers in this region is anticipated owing to change in lifestyle, rise in disposable incomes and increase in offences related to drunk driving. Likewise, rise in demand for advanced healthcare services for detection of asthma, tuberculosis and other diseases have triggered the growth of this market in Asian countries. Some of the major players of the market include Alcohol Countermeasure Systems, Inc. Dragerwerk AG & Co, Intoximeters, Inc., Lifeloc Technologies, Inc., Quest Products and other key players.

Virtualization over the past years has become a key strategy for IT to acquire multi-tenancy, increase utilization, develop elasticity and improve security. And virtual machines (VMs) are quickly becoming a main vehicle for developing and deploying applications. The introduction of containers seems to be bringing another and perhaps overlapped solution for achieving the same above-mentioned benefits. Are a container and a virtual machine fundamentally the same or different? And how? Is one techn...
