2014 Future of Media Conference on March 5

In today’s rapidly expanding universe of entertainment options, how should media companies help customers find their way to great content? Can big data and social technologies identify personalized products that consumers will love? How do new media consumption platforms inform the design of new journalism projects?

Keynote speakers Todd Yellin (Vice President of Product Innovation at Netflix) and Chas Edwards (Cofounder, Publisher, and President of the new California Sunday Magazine; Cofounder of Federated Media; and former Chief Revenue Officer of Digg) will draw on distinguished careers in entertainment and technology to provide answers and insights at the 2014 Future of Media Conference at Stanford Graduate School of Business on March 5, 2014. They will be joined by leaders from companies such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Electronic Arts, Quora, Medium, Bloomberg Beta, and Kleiner Perkins, among others.

Following the Comcast-Time Warner merger announcement, Jeff Bezos’ buyout of the Washington Post, Twitter’s IPO, and other major developments across the industry, this year’s conference comes at the perfect moment to analyze the accelerating transformation underway in the media business. Along with the keynotes, six panels — featuring leaders in the fields of news, investing, technology, and entertainment — will explore the most pressing challenges facing media, new business models to make quality content profitable, and the rise of platforms and technologies that could revolutionize the way we craft and consume stories.

The last two years has seen discussions about cloud computing evolve from the public / private / hybrid split to the reality that most enterprises will be creating a complex, multi-cloud strategy.
