Punchcard Partners with SessionM to Reward Consumers For In-Store Purchases, Delivering Deeper Insights Into Consumer Behavior

mPOINTS Integration in Shopping App, Punchcard, Expands the Loyalty Platform's Reach Into Retail

BOSTON, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SessionM, powering the loyalty program used by hundreds of leading mobile apps, today announced a partnership with Punchcard, a shopping app that rewards consumers for completing in-store purchases at over 15 million locations including every restaurant, retailer, grocery store and gas station nationwide.

Consumers who use the Punchcard app will receive mPOINTS (mobile points), SessionM's mobile loyalty point system, each time they make a purchase at a local business and take a photo of the receipt with the Punchcard app. mPOINTS can be earned across all apps in SessionM's network of publisher partners and are redeemable for merchandise, gift-cards and contest entries within each of these apps.

Punchcard, in making the switch to points-as-currency, chose to integrate SessionM's loyalty platform due to the success of mPOINTS with mobile users across category leading publishers like The Weather Channel, Zynga and Aol, as well as the ease of setup and management.  Now the more you shop with Punchcard, the more you earn.

Punchcard will also be promoting their app across SessionM's network, reaching a potential audience of over 60 million monthly active users.

"We're excited to partner with SessionM to deliver an even more rewarding and fun experience to shoppers everywhere," said Andy Steuer, founder and CEO, Punchcard. "We look forward to taking the momentum they've seen driving app engagement and brand loyalty with the app experience and expanding it out into local businesses through Punchcard."

The partnership will also offer enhanced opportunities for brand advertisers to build better targeted campaigns across SessionM's network, based on a combination of Punchard's purchase data and SessionM's proprietary Mobile Audience Segmentation Tool (mCAST), which analyzes anonymized first-party user data to provide consumers with more relevant ad experiences.

"By partnering with Punchcard, we will be able to better help our advertisers close the loop on in-store purchases and ultimately increase shopping cart size," said Bill Clifford, CRO, SessionM. "Both Punchcard and the SessionM teams are deeply aligned in creating opportunities for retailers and brands to find their most loyal customers and reward them for on-going engagement both on and off device."
