HipPOPs Expanding with Franchise Launch in Florida

Founder Taking Mobile Dessert Truck Success on the Road

DANIA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- HipPOPs, a mobile dessert truck featuring handcrafted gelato, sorbet and frozen yogurt POPs on a stick, announced today the launch of franchise opportunities throughout northern and central Florida. Founder Anthony Fellows is rolling into Tampa March 1-2 for the Franchise & Business Opportunities Expo, where he will discuss HipPOPs recipe for success with qualified candidates.

Founded on the principle of bringing the highest-quality and healthiest ingredients to the streets with a mobile HipPOPs Truck, the company has successfully blended the Old World traditions and tastes of Italian gelaterias with modern technology, tapping into social networking sites to drive customers to its current truck locations. Catering and event opportunities keep HipPOPs popping up all over town.

Fellows has owned and operated foodservice businesses, including experience with frozen desserts, for more than two decades. His inspiration for HipPOPs came from his father, who told him that if you get up every day and do what you love, it's not work.

At the core of HipPOPs are natural, gluten-free, kosher frozen POPs on a stick that are made with love from small, hand-crafted batches at the company's micro-creamery in South Florida. Three varieties of high-quality Italian chocolate dips and several crushed-nut "POPings" combine for a gourmet treat with a fraction of ice cream's fat content. Rich, smooth and made to order, the POPs are made with only a handful of high-quality ingredients. The company sources local, top-quality dairy that adheres to strict standards, plus the freshest fruit from local farms whenever possible.

HipPOPs has embarked on an aggressive growth strategy that includes initial development efforts focusing on northern and central Florida. To fuel its growth, the company is seeking single and multi-unit operators with foodservice and/or restaurant experience. Franchisee candidates should have a minimum net worth of $175,000 and liquid assets of at least $75,000.   

Franchisees can expect the total cost of investment for one HipPOPs operation to be approximately $225,175 to $326,450. The initial franchise fee is $25,000. If purchasing multiple franchises at the same time, the initial franchise fee is reduced to $20,000 for the second franchise and $15,000 for a third or subsequent franchise. In addition, HipPOPs is reducing the initial franchise fee to $15,000 for the first five franchises awarded.

The company is honored to have been chosen as the sole dessert truck of the 2014 World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship March 5-9 at the Trump National Doral. HipPOPs has created two signature bars for the high-profile event, including The Trump Bar — a blend of Americana cherries and handmade vanilla bean gelato dipped in semi-sweet Belgian chocolate.
