LANSING, Mich., Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Coming off a record-breaking 2013, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the industry's leading moving services franchise, has achieved 50 straight months of growth. As a result of the company's success, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is ramping up recruiting efforts this spring with its second annual Career Move Month in March to prepare for the busy summer season with expected double-digit revenue growth.

Career Move Month is an initiative dedicated to recruiting new hires to join the expanding brand. In 2013 alone, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® had 551 new hires result from the celebrated month. Demonstrating the growing success of the nationally recognized moving company, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has announced it hopes to receive 10,000 applications throughout the month of March and hire at least 1,000 of those applicants.

"Career Move Month is an essential time to extend opportunities to potential hires and encourage their involvement with a leading brand focused as heavily on the satisfaction of its customers as it is of its employees' success," said Randy Shacka, president of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. "We're very excited to grow our team, which has been the platform of all our accomplishments for the past 29 years."

Looking to expand their overall staff, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is hiring in all fields of operation, including movers, drivers, marketing specialists, and management-level staff. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® encourages upward mobility; in fact, more than 75 percent of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location management started out with the company in a frontline role as movers, drivers, or home office staff.

"A big factor in our success is the commitment to our franchisees and staff," said Sara Bennett, human resources director for the brand. "Our president, Randy, even started out as an intern in the corporate office. Our people are a vital part of our brand, and we're better able to serve our customers because of the talents which they bring to the table. That's why we're committing an entire month to the growth of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® team and to further add to our talent pool."

In an effort to reach the goal of 10,000 applicants, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is partnering with Dress for Success, a non-profit organization focused on empowering females by giving them the necessary resources, like professional attire and career development tools, to excel in work and life. It is ironic, but perhaps not unexpected, that many organizations who want the benefits of using an Agile approach to deliver software use a waterfall approach to adopting Agile practices: they form plans, they set milestones, and they measure progress by how many teams they have engaged. Old habits die hard, but like most waterfall software projects, most waterfall-style Agile adoption efforts fail to produce the results desired. The problem is that to get the results they want, they have to ch...

For far too long technology teams have lived in siloes. Not only physical siloes, but cultural siloes pushed by competing objectives. This includes informational siloes where business users require one set of data and tech teams require different data. DevOps intends to bridge these gaps to make tech driven operations more aligned and efficient.
Organizations planning enterprise data center consolidation and modernization projects are faced with a challenging, costly reality. Requirements to deploy modern, cloud-native applications simultaneously with traditional client/server applications are almost impossible to achieve with hardware-centric enterprise infrastructure. Compute and network infrastructure are fast moving down a software-defined path, but storage has been a laggard. Until now.
Without a clear strategy for cost control and an architecture designed with cloud services in mind, costs and operational performance can quickly get out of control. To avoid multiple architectural redesigns requires extensive thought and planning. HyperConvergence came to market with the objective of being simple, flexible and to help drive down operating expenses. It reduced the footprint by bundling the compute/storage/network into one box. This brought a new set of challenges as the HyperConverged vendors are very focused on their own proprietary building blocks. If you want to scale in a certain way, let's say you identified a need for more storage and want to add a device that is not sold by the HyperConverged vendor, forget about it...
