Liquidware Labs Is Named to the CRN Data Center 100

The company is included again in annual list which features cutting-edge technologies powering the data center to help solution providers navigate vendor landscape

CHICAGO, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation solutions, today announced that it has been recognized in the CRN Data Center 100 annual list for 2014 featuring technology vendors whose solutions are vital for powering today's data center. CRN developed the list to help solution providers navigate the marketplace and identify the top companies and technologies across the data center to best meet their needs as they build solutions for their customers.  This is the second year in a row that Liquidware Labs has been included on this list.

Identified by the editorial staff, the vendors featured on this list power, support and protect today's data center services from data backup tools to virtual data center solutions and cloud hosting services, while boosting efficiency and productivity.

The list honors vendors in five different data center technology categories: Infrastructure, Tools, Virtualization, Service Providers, and Designers and Builders.  Liquidware Labs provides unique desktop virtualization solutions that allow organizations of all types to leverage datacenter and cloud resource pools to power their desktops.  Bringing desktop data, user information and applications into the data center offers an additional layer of control, security and recoverability for desktops, which has been a long-standing goal for many IT managers.

"The Data Center 100 list recognizes vendors that embrace innovation, efficiency and sustainability, to bring the data center to the next level," said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. "These dynamic companies are led by forward-thinking executives who understand today's data center environment. We applaud their success and look forward to their continued contributions to this industry."

"The recognition from CRN validates our commitment to supply our channel partners with the best-of-breed offerings to drive new business opportunities in an emerging market," said David Bieneman, CEO and co-founder of Liquidware Labs.  "The desktop virtualization market is extremely dynamic today, and our software and partner-delivered services are critical in helping organizations make the transition from a hardware-centric model to a flexible and responsive software-based desktop strategy.  Our objective, as always, is for our company and our channel to be ahead of the trends as desktop architectures evolve."

Coverage of the Data Center 100 will be featured in the February/March issue of CRN, and online at www.CRN.com.

Fifty billion connected devices and still no winning protocols standards. HTTP, WebSockets, MQTT, and CoAP seem to be leading in the IoT protocol race at the moment but many more protocols are getting introduced on a regular basis. Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.

More and more companies are looking to microservices as an architectural pattern for breaking apart applications into more manageable pieces so that agile teams can deliver new features quicker and more effectively. What this pattern has done more than anything to date is spark organizational transformations, setting the foundation for future application development. In practice, however, there are a number of considerations to make that go beyond simply “build, ship, and run,” which changes ho...

Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of (at least) three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the back-end service, and the mobile application for the end user’s controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/target –...
