ParStream Distribution Italia Founded to Offer Real-time Analytics Database to Italian Enterprises

ParStream brings established big data analytics platform to the Italian market to help businesses gain competitive advantage

Cologne, Germany & Silicon Valley, Calif - February 25, 2014 - ParStream, provider of the Real-time Database for Big Data Analytics, today announced that ParStream Distribution Italia Srl has been founded according to an exclusive agreement signed with ParStream GmbH headquartered in Germany with offices in Silicon Valley, USA. According to the agreement, ParStream Distribution Italia will promote ParStream's Real-time Database for Big Data Analytics in the Italian market.

ParStream's Real-time Database powers big data analytics, enabling businesses to make better, faster, fact-based decisions by analyzing massive amounts of streaming and stored data. ParStream delivers sub- second query response times on billions of records while continuously importing new data at very high speeds, so businesses can gain immediate insights from their data.

"There are endless opportunities with which big data analytics can be applied," said Michael Hummel, CEO and co-founder of ParStream GmbH. "With the actionable insights gained from big data analytics, businesses can gain competitive advantage by confidently innovating and exploring new business models; optimizing and expanding revenue streams; and reducing infrastructure and operational costs."

ParStream's patented High Performance Compressed Index (HPCI) is the core of the ultra-fast columnar analytic database, built from the ground up to manage both Big Data and Fast Data. ParStream's distributed, massively parallel, shared-nothing architecture is designed to exploit the multi-core architecture of today's processors, servers, and clusters.

Traditional database technology was not designed to manage the data volumes of today. Newer database technologies are meant to address large data volumes, but not all platforms are able to query and analyze data quickly enough to serve the needs of the businesses and customers. With ParStream, there is no need to use cubes, materialized views, projections or any other form of pre-aggregation. ParStream can process new data in all analytical queries while providing full data granularity and full analytical flexibility.

"ParStream Distribution Italia, formed by the merger of professional leaders in the ICT market with the historical Italian and European distributor Strhold, distribution of ICT Reweb Srl, has the ambition to quickly win significant market share in the Italian big data arena," said Filippo Durango, Business Development Manager of ParStream Distribution Italia. "Thanks to a best-of-breed technology, it will be possible to help businesses of all types to manage the huge volumes of data that is generated each minute, allowing them to make better decisions and a rapid return on investment."

WebRTC is about the data channel as much as about video and audio conferencing. However, basically all commercial WebRTC applications have been built with a focus on audio and video. In her session at @ThingsExpo, Dr Silvia Pfeiffer, WebRTC Applications Team Lead at National ICT Australia, looked at differ...

Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. Due of the rise of Hadoop, many enterprises are now deploying their first small clusters of 10 to 20 servers. At this small scale, the complexity of operating the cluster looks and feels like general data center servers. It is not until the clusters scale, as they inevitably do, when the pain caused by the exponential complexity becomes apparent. We've seen this problem occur time and time again. In his session at Big Data Expo, Greg Bruno, Vice President of Engineering and co-founder of StackIQ...
