Samsung Telecommunications America, LLC (Samsung Mobile) has been selected to supply indoor LTE solutions for Verizon Wireless, one of the world’s leading providers of mobile communications services. As part of this agreement, Samsung Mobile will deliver a comprehensive and scalable LTE solution to Verizon Wireless, including femtocells, plus core network elements and a complete element management system.
Verizon Wireless will deploy Samsung Mobile’s innovative femtocell solution later this year as part of a seamless LTE experience for customers in indoor environments. Femtocells provide coverage in specific areas and each can provide more than 60 simultaneous connections to the LTE network. The Samsung solution will also be offered to help enhance in-building coverage for enterprise customers, enabling the voice and data solutions on which many businesses rely.
Adam Koeppe, vice president of network planning for Verizon, commented, “As the femtocell opportunity with small- and medium-size businesses continues to grow, we’re pleased to work with Samsung to provide innovative solutions to customers as they look to use LTE services in their places of business.”
“Samsung is delighted to extend our strategic relationship with one of the industry’s leading operators,” said Sam Baker, Vice President at Networks Business, Samsung Electronics. “Verizon Wireless represents one of the most innovative providers in telecoms, and we are immensely proud to support their network in this critical area. Our LTE solutions continue to expand in many markets around the world and now we will bring the highest quality LTE experience via femtocells to Verizon’s customers.”
With more than 35 years of experience and leadership in developing and commercializing telecom technologies, Samsung has successfully partnered with dozens of mobile service providers, helping them to implement the most advanced LTE solutions. Samsung Mobile’s smallcell and femtocell solutions have been globally recognized for technological advances in the LTE market, including successful deployments in the United States and Japan that allow carriers to seamlessly integrate multiple communications protocols to create a unified experience for customers.
