EnerVault and NORAM Announce Strategic Partnership

EnerVault Poised to Scale Production and Commercialize Long-duration, Grid-scale Energy Storage Systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- EnerVault, designer and manufacturer of long-duration, grid-scale energy storage systems, and NORAM, a specialized engineering and process design firm, today announced a collaborative agreement to scale production and commercialize EnerVault's iron-chromium redox flow batteries.

In January, 2014, EnerVault began commissioning the largest iron-chromium redox flow battery in the field anywhere in the world: a 250 kilowatt, 4-hour system capable of delivering 1 megawatt-hour of stored energy.  Located in Turlock, Calif., and sited on agricultural land in combination with a ground-mounted solar system, the EnerVault redox flow battery system will begin operation in the spring of 2014.
