Tampa Bay CityPASS: Partnership With Local Attractions and DMOs Cooperatively Packages the Tampa Bay Region for Visitors

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwired - February 27, 2014) - Tampa Bay is the latest destination to partner with City Pass, the company that packages discounted, prepaid admission to a city or region's top attractions. Beginning May 20, travelers to the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater areas can purchase a Tampa Bay CityPASS® ticket booklet and save 38 percent off admission to Busch Gardens® Tampa, The Florida Aquarium, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and the pass holder's choice between the Chihuly Collection presented by the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg or the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa.

"When visitors travel to a destination, they want to see the very best attractions," said Mike Gallagher, City Pass co-founder and co-chairman. "And a CityPASS ticket booklet makes that easy, especially for first-time visitors. It simplifies vacation planning, all while saving the visitor a significant chunk of money."

Each 2014 Tampa Bay CityPASS ticket booklet will retail for $119 for adults, $99 for children, age 3-9. Passes, which can be purchased online at CityPASS.com or at any of the CityPASS partner attractions listed above, are valid for nine consecutive days, beginning with the first day of use. Visitors who use all of the booklet's tickets will save $73.45 on combined admission to the included attractions.

"Visit Tampa Bay's goal is to create economic growth for the region," said Santiago Corrada, president and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay, the official destination marketing organization for Hillsborough County, Fla. "We know that visitors who stay in our area longer spend more money and have a bigger, more positive impact on the economy. CityPASS travelers in other destinations tend to stay two to three days longer than other visitors. We're excited about programs that have the potential to extend average length of stay."

D.T. Minich, executive director of Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater, agrees. "The CityPASS program gives us another tool to use in our efforts to cooperatively promote the St. Pete/Clearwater area and Tampa as a single destination," he said. "Doing so spreads the economic benefit of tourism across multiple locations and businesses, and gives visitors yet another reason to explore the entire area -- which is good for all of us."

For more than 15 years, CityPASS ticket booklets and admission cards have been premier products for travelers who want to visit a city's top attractions while enjoying significant savings. The CityPASS program is available in New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Southern California, Tampa Bay and Toronto.
