Patients Honor Dr. William Kuo for Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award

STANFORD, Calif., Feb. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Vitals is pleased to announce that Dr. William Kuo has been honored with the prestigious 2013 Compassionate Doctor Award.

The accolade, which recognizes physician excellence, is given only to doctors who receive outstanding patient reviews throughout the calendar year. Of the nation's 870,000 active physicians, only 3 percent were accorded the Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award in 2013.

Each year, nearly 150 million patients across the U.S. access Vitals and UCompareHealthCare to provide feedback about their experiences with their physicians. The Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award is bestowed on doctors who have an average rating of at least a 3.5 out of 4.0 in the category of bedside manner. All winning doctors must also have a medical license in good standing with no sanctions.

Dr. William T. Kuo is Associate Professor and Fellowship Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kuo is an international authority on catheter-directed therapy for acute PE and complex IVC filter retrieval. He pioneered treatment of IVC filter complications using advanced techniques including laser-assisted filter retrieval. Dr. Kuo routinely applies his expertise to treat patients from around the country and around the world, and he has established the Stanford IVC Filter Clinic as a national and international referral center.
