25% of Assisted Living Facilities Have Severe Violations That Are Never Reported Online.

Help Us Change The Way The Senior Housing System Operates.

SAN DIEGO, March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ChipperList is a website that reviews and lists assisted living centers, memory care facilities and other types of senior housing communities. ChipperList is already the premiere source of information about senior living housing units, posting high-resolution images, maps, and walk through photos along with example menu items, and real reviews from people who have been to the San Diego senior care facilities listed on the site. Created by someone looking for assisted living care for his own family, the ChipperList website puts all the information about assisted living and memory care facilities in one place.

Each year, one in four facilities commits a serious violation where someone suffers from serious harm or neglect. State officials document these violations in highly detailed and complex inspection reports. Unfortunately, the average person does not know how to find these reports, or even know that they exist.

Many older people and their families avoid visiting senior care facilities until someone needs to move into one. By that time, many people are emotionally overwhelmed, stressed out, and do not know where to turn for fair and unbiased information.

ChipperList addresses this problem by putting these state reports in one easy-to-navigate location. The length and complexity of these reports make them difficult to understand, so ChipperList provides a summary of the report. They also display violations from the previous two years in graph form. This makes it easy to assess a facility's performance to make it easier to see.

ChipperList is attempting to raise $22,000 though the crowd funding site Indiegogo http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/chipperlist-assisted-living-reports to complete the publishing of the State Inspection Reports for San Diego and Los Angeles County.

ChipperList has assembled a highly qualified staff of reviewers, known affectionately as "munks," who tour every facility listed on the website. The munks review the facility, rate it, take pictures, rank each on a 5-star scale then post the information on ChipperList's virtual website maps. These expert reviewers are trained to assess a facility fairly; munks can spot problems that would not be apparent to the typical family member touring the facility.

While the army of munks has thoroughly documented the assisted living and memory care facilities in San Diego, online access to state inspection reports gives everyone the important information they need to choose the perfect senior care facility. ChipperList is proud to continue providing essential data for seniors and the people who care for them.

The ChipperList mission is supported by Hazel's Army, a community-based advocacy group that gives voice to those who have lost loved ones as the result of poor or improper care at Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
