New App Makes Hosting Events in Jacksonville, FL Meeting Space Easier Than Ever

Red Coat Direct, Available at Jacksonville Marriott, Allows Planner to Make Real-Time Requests

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 03/04/14 -- Planning a meeting is one thing; making sure it goes smoothly is another. With Marriott's new meeting services app, now available at the Jacksonville Marriott, getting the job done is as easy as sending a text.

The free app, Red Coat Direct, allows planners hosting events at this business hotel in Jacksonville, FL to connect with their dedicated event manager in real time and send requests and responses using their web-enabled device.

Meeting planners are sent the app 3 days prior to their event so they can become familiar with it, and once they arrive at these Jacksonville meeting facilities, they'll be able to request everything from thermostat changes to audiovisual assistance to food service before and during their meeting, so they'll get everything they need without ever having to leave the room.

As the only full-service Marriott in Jacksonville, the hotel is able to offer full event services, and features a variety of venues in its 14,000 square feet of function space. Of its 16 rooms, the Southpoint Ballroom offers the most space with capacity for up to 750 guests, making it ideal for conferences, galas and large presentations. Every meeting space is equipped with state-of-the-art features including high-speed Internet access and audiovisual equipment, and a 24-hour business center allows for last-minute changes and printing.

While Red Coat Direct makes the meeting experience seamless, there is no replacement for the hotel's expert events team, who are available to assist with every detail. The hotel also offers custom catering, adding an extra-special element to the day whether an energizing coffee break or rewarding plated dinner.

Accommodations were also created with meeting planners and attendees in mind, and offer a spacious work desk, high-speed Internet access, coffee/tea maker and room service. Of course there's always time for a little break, and the hotel offers an indoor pool, fitness center and sauna, plus two dining destinations, one featuring modern American cuisine and the other typical Southside fare. Nearby, visitors can spend free time relaxing on the beach or exploring shopping, performance arts and the outdoors.

Guests can focus on fitness in the gym or indoor pool, followed by some down time in the sauna or whirlpool. Accommodations combine comfort and convenience with plush bedding, a spacious work desk, high-speed Internet access, 32-inch LCD TV, in-room coffee/tea and complimentary newspaper delivery. DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
