ST. LOUIS, March 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in the Southwest region in the J.D. Power 2014 Wireless Network Quality Study(SM), Volume 1, issued today. The Southwest region includes Missouri and four other states: Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The J.D. Power study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers in its survey of wireless subscribers about calling, messaging and data service between July and December 2013. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless, for the second consecutive time, was ranked highest among national wireless companies in all six regions, including the Southwest.
"The results of the J.D. Power study helps to affirm that Verizon Wireless is committed to providing customers in Missouri and across the country with the most reliable wireless network experience," said Brendan Fallis – president, Kansas/Missouri Region, Verizon Wireless. "We are committed to providing our customers with the best wireless network."
Verizon Wireless operates the nation's largest 4G LTE network, which is twice the size geographically of any other 4G LTE network in the U.S. Available to nearly 305 million people in more than 500 markets across the country, the Verizon Wireless network covers more than 97 percent of the U.S. population. The company continues to build out its network to meet customer demand with the introduction of new technologies such as the deployment of AWS spectrum in 2013.
As part of its commitment to ensure its customers have a powerful, reliable network, Verizon Wireless invested $9.4 billion in its network last year. In 2013 alone, Verizon Wireless invested $68 million in 2013 in Missouri to ensure its customers have the most powerful network available.
