Apprion, the leader in industrial application systems and services, today announced the ION Intelligent Reliability Application. ION Intelligent Reliability provides predictive analytics and intelligence by continuously monitoring machine sensors to identify normal versus abnormal activity.
ION Intelligent Reliability, part of the ION Monitoring Application family, uses real-time sensor data plus archived work orders and maintenance data to show if equipment is operating reliably and under normal operating limits. ION Intelligent Reliability collects and analyzes patterns at a granular level to fully understand normal behavior for all operating stages and the precise patterns that precede failure. By understanding historical failures, the application can identify precise patterns that predict a future failure long before it occurs, including new modes of failure that were previously undetected.
The proliferation of sensors in our customers' manufacturing plants has created a tremendous amount of data for analysis. With ION Intelligent Reliability, plants can now convert this "big data" into usable and actionable information, including interpretation of patterns and historical trends to predict possible future failures in monitored assets. This information is presented in a user-friendly, customizable dashboard, the ION System dashboard, with a high level view of the health and predictive health of assets.
"We continue to develop our ION Industrial Applications with a focus on intelligent, analytic features for safety, security and productivity," said Sarah Prinster, Apprion's VP of Marketing. "With ION Intelligent Reliability's predictive analytics, you can identify defects and failures before they happen, reducing unplanned equipment shutdowns or slowdowns, increasing asset availability, and eliminating potentially hazardous safety incidents."
ION Intelligent Reliability provides better visibility and improved analytics by capturing higher quality real-time data. This keeps assets running at peak performance with shorter response times and timelier maintenance. Alert notifications send emails and text messages to maintenance and operations staff as well as predictive work requests directly to the maintenance system based on predefined criteria and customized business rules.
Apprion's ION System is an open, industrial platform that provides facilities a view of critical data, applications, and the industrial network in a single, customizable, interface. All ION Applications can be integrated in the ION System dashboard, including ION Intelligent Reliability, for limitless functionality and a complete, intelligent, analytic view of all your facility data.
Apprion delivers intelligent, industrial applications and services for the process manufacturing industry. Apprion extends and manages the Industrial Internet of Things with the only open, industrial application platform -- the ION System. The ION System includes multiple industrial applications that address all of your critical safety, security, compliance and performance needs for Communications, Condition Monitoring, Asset & Personnel Location, Video and Workforce Mobility. IoT offers a value of almost $4 trillion to the manufacturing industry through platforms that can improve margins, optimize operations & drive high performance work teams. By using IoT technologies as a foundation, manufacturing customers are integrating worker safety with manufacturing systems, driving deep collaboration and utilizing analytics to exponentially increased per-unit margins. However, as Benoit Lheureux, the VP for Research at Gartner points out, “IoT project implementers often ...

So, you bought into the current machine learning craze and went on to collect millions/billions of records from this promising new data source. Now, what do you do with them? Too often, the abundance of data quickly turns into an abundance of problems. How do you extract that "magic essence" from your data without falling into the common pitfalls? In her session at @ThingsExpo, Natalia Ponomareva, Software Engineer at Google, provided tips on how to be successful in large scale machine learning...

In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed cloud as a ‘better data center’ and how it adds new capacity (faster) and improves application availability (redundancy). The cloud is a ‘Dynamic Tool for Dynamic Apps’ and resource allocation is an integral part of your application architecture, so use only the resources you need and allocate /de-allocate resources on the fly.
