Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in the New England region in the J.D. Power 2014 Wireless Network Quality Study℠, Volume 1, issued March 6, 2014. The New England region includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. This is the 19th consecutive reporting period that Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the Northeast.
The J.D. Power study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers in its survey of wireless subscribers about calling, messaging and data service between July and December 2013. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless, for the second consecutive time, was ranked highest among national wireless companies in all six regions.
“Today’s increasingly mobile lifestyle - supported by innovative apps and smart accessories - requires advanced and reliable wireless networks,” commented Christine Berberich, New England President for Verizon Wireless. “The results of the J.D. Power study help to affirm that Verizon Wireless is committed to providing customers in New England and across the country with the most reliable wireless network experience.”
Verizon Wireless operates the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, which is twice the size geographically of any other 4G LTE network in the U.S. Available to nearly 305 million people in more than 500 markets across the country, the Verizon Wireless network covers more than 97 percent of the U.S. population. The company continues to build out its network to meet customer demand with the introduction of new technologies such as the deployment of AWS spectrum in 2013.
As part of its commitment to ensure its customers have a powerful, reliable network, Verizon Wireless invested $9.4 billion in its network last year.
