Palms Casino Resort Offers 24-Hour Checkout Experience

Iconic Property Becomes First Major Hotel to Offer Its Guests a Full 24-Hour Stay for Price of Daily Rate

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - March 06, 2014) - Palms Casino Resort is the first major hotel in the United States to offer a 24-hour checkout program. Guests can maximize their Las Vegas experience at no extra cost by booking the 24-hour checkout option on Superior, Premier and Ivory Suites, by booking at Palms.com.

"We are very proud to be the first major hotel in the U.S. to offer 24-hour checkout to our guests. It is a simple concept: For example, if a guest checks in at 8 p.m. on a Friday, they will be allowed to enjoy the room until 8 p.m. on their day of departure. We think this is a benefit many of our guests will appreciate and certainly enjoy," said Daniel R. Lee, CEO of Palms Casino Resort.

Experiencing 24-hour checkout is a quick and easy process. While booking directly through Palms.com, a guest will note their anticipated check-in time on the website (standard check-in time is at 3 p.m.). Upon arrival, the guest will provide the hotel with a mobile phone number to communicate via text message. On the day of departure, the guest will receive a reminder text about the scheduled departure time (the guest can even check out via text).

"24-hour checkout allows our guests to make the most of their visit at Palms and enjoy flexibility with their travel plans, whether that includes enjoying extra time at the pool or staying late to avoid traffic," said Christopher Joy, Vice President of Hotel Operations at Palms Casino Resort.

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it's important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. "Fly two mistakes high" is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Le...
