gearDigital leading data-driven marketing and campaign accountability

Today, gearDigital announces its official launch as an agency creating business growth via data-driven insights for all marketing platforms.

AUSTIN, Texas, March 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For almost a year, gearDigital has been operating in stealth mode in Columbus, Ohio at one of the Midwest's leading startup accelerators, Tech Columbus.  Today, as the annual South By Southwest Interactive festival kicks off in Austin, Texas, gearDigital announces its official launch as an agency creating business growth via data-driven insights for all marketing platforms.

"More than ever before, we see a tremendous opportunity in the marketplace to empower accountable marketing with consumer data science," says Dave Wilson, gearDigital Founder and Chief Strategist. Wilson is also the Founder and CEO of Wilson RMS, a marketing agency based in New York City with a proven track record of direct-response marketing since its formation in 2001. Today, Wilson RMS employs nearly 50 full-time professionals out of its New York City and San Francisco offices to deliver marketing campaigns for such household names as Charter Communications, PayPal, MasterCard and Kaiser Permanente.

As an affiliate company of Wilson RMS, gearDigital will serve as a data hub and marketing technology studio supporting existing Wilson RMS clients.  In addition, gearDigital will have an independent consumer insights laboratory with a specific focus on big data analytics and will activate those insights in traditional and emerging customer acquisition platforms.  gearDigital will be headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, a location selected for its access to cutting-edge technologies and a nimble workforce.

Leading the charge for gearDigital is seasoned media executive Linda Thomas Brooks. Brooks has spent the majority of her career at the intersection of media, consumer behavior and technology, having held executive leadership positions at The Martin Agency in Richmond and New York City, and General Motors Mediaworks in Detroit.  "As traditional marketing and digital advertising platforms evolve rapidly on the web and mobile, it is more critical now than ever to measure and optimize customer acquisition strategies across multiple channels to remain competitive," says Brooks. "We bring the expertise, the tools and the cross-functional and fully integrated mindset that enables us to manage this for our clients." Brooks will serve as President of gearDigital.

Rounding out the leadership team for gearDigital are Managing Director, Chris Anderson and Wilson Chief Technology Officer, Dustin Leggans. Anderson and Leggans are no strangers to the technology industry having spent over a decade working with startups and marketing agencies. "We are extremely excited to introduce gearDigital to Columbus," says Anderson. "There's not a better place in the country in terms of emerging tech talent and a burgeoning startup community, with an appetite for innovation.

More and more companies are looking to microservices as an architectural pattern for breaking apart applications into more manageable pieces so that agile teams can deliver new features quicker and more effectively. What this pattern has done more than anything to date is spark organizational transformations, setting the foundation for future application development. Internet-of-Things discussions can end up either going down the consumer gadget rabbit hole or focused on the sort of data logging that industrial manufacturers have been doing forever. "We build IoT infrastructure products - when you have to integrate different devices, different systems and cloud you have to build an application to do that but we eliminate the need to build an application. Our products can integrate any device, any system, any cloud regardless of protocol," explained Peter Jung, Chief Product Officer at Pulzze Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
When it comes to cloud computing, the ability to turn massive amounts of compute cores on and off on demand sounds attractive to IT staff, who need to manage peaks and valleys in user activity. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Scott Jeschonek, Director of Product Management at Avere Systems, discussed the IT and busin...
Between 2005 and 2020, data volumes will grow by a factor of 300 – enough data to stack CDs from the earth to the moon 162 times. This has come to be known as the ‘big data’ phenomenon. "Once customers get a year into their IoT deployments, they start to realize that they may have been shortsighted in the ways they built out their deployment and the key thing I see a lot of people looking at is - how can I take equipment data, pull it back in an IoT solution and show it in a dashboard," stated Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
