Zya (zyamusic.com), a groundbreaking mobile game that makes it fun and easy for anyone to create studio-quality music like a pro, today announced a new contest offering players a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to both win a recording contract and go on tour.
A first-of-its-kind game-based music competition, the #ZyaStar Contest will select finalists each month beginning in May and running until the end of the year. Contestants will be judged based on the songs they create using Zya’s innovative music platform. All of the finalists will then compete for the chance to win the Grand Prize, which includes $10,000 cash, select tour performances on DigiTour 2015 thedigitour.com, the largest producer of live events targeting the teen audience, and a recording contract with Emblem Records emblem-music.com, the record label behind award-winning artists including Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas and Gloriana.
“With Zya everybody has the chance to make great songs. We want to find someone that takes the power of Zya and runs with it,” said Matt Serletic, Owner of Emblem Records and CEO and Co-Founder of Music Mastermind, Zya’s creator. “We are launching #ZyaStar to help discover and groom the next breakout music star from the digital world.”
“Zya delivers an unparalleled music creation experience and we’re thrilled to have published the game with Music Mastermind and watch its fan base grow,” states Ed Rumley, General Manager, Chillingo. “The ZyaStar contest provides a perfect way for gamers to show off their musical talent with a rare opportunity to win a grand prize that has never been seen before in mobile gaming.”
The #ZyaStar Contest is the first-ever global game contest that offers players the opportunity to realize their dreams of music stardom. #ZyaStar finalists will be determined based on a combination of factors, including the originality of songs they share using the #ZyaStar hashtag, the highest level they reach in the game, and the popularity of their songs, as determined by the amount of views on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. All #ZyaStar registrants will gain access to exclusive Tips & Tricks to help them on their road to stardom. Each of the finalists will be selected by a panel of judges including Matt Serletic (multi-Grammy-winning producer and songwriter), Dean Serletic (President of Emblem Records), and special celebrity judges revealed throughout the contest term.
Register today at ZyaMusic.com to receive more information about the contest, which is free to enter.
In addition to a chance at the Grand Prize, select #ZyaStar finalists will win a trip to the Zya studios in Los Angeles to meet with Matt Serletic for one-on-one mentoring sessions.

Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of (at least) three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the back-end service, and the mobile application for the end user’s controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/target –...
