LAS VEGAS, NV and TORONTO, ON -- (Marketwired) -- 03/10/14 -- Shift4 Corporation, provider of DOLLARS ON THE NET®, the world's largest independent payment gateway, announced the completion of certification to Moneris Solutions Corporation, Canada's largest debit and credit card processor, of Shift4's Universal Transaction Gateway® (UTG®)/DOLLARS ON THE NET solution for EMV® transaction processing.
"EMV certifications are notoriously complex and resource intensive," said Bob Lowe, Shift4's VP of Business Development. "Fortunately, Shift4's unique technologies allow us to shield merchants from this complexity by essentially completing the certification on their behalf."
Shift4's UTG software controls the chip card reader, so any merchant using an approved device and whose point-of-sale system was certified for debit with Shift4 after June 2009 does not need to certify with Moneris or obtain EMV approval. No additional development will be required on the merchant's side (those whose systems were certified prior to June 2009 will need to have just a few minor modifications made to their code). The certification is currently available using the Ingenico® iPP320 PIN pad device.
"Moneris strives to deliver innovative, secure, and reliable solutions to our merchants," said Rob Cameron, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, at Moneris. "Shift4's ability to enable merchants to leverage EMV certifications and security certainly falls into that category. We're very pleased to have worked with Shift4 to bring this capability to our mutual customers."
Moneris offers a variety of merchant solutions, from e-commerce to mobile, incorporating security best practices including point-to-point encryption and tokenization capabilities.
Shift4 merchant customers who are interested in adding Canadian EMV transaction processing capabilities should contact Shift4 Account Maintenance at [email protected]. Merchants not currently working with Shift4 can request more information by emailing [email protected].
