Top Phoenix Advertising Agency Wins 10 Awards at 2014 ADDYs; Credits client relationships as reason for wins

PHOENIX, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lavidge Company (TLC), a Phoenix-based national advertising agency with clients such as McDonald's, Massage Envy, Discount Tire and United Rentals, took home 10 honors—one Gold, five Silver and four Bronze from the 2014 Phoenix ADDY Awards.

To view the Bronze Animation Award for United Rentals visit https://vimeo.com/88194314.

Creativity alone doesn't win advertising competitions. It takes innovation and knowing how to push the boundaries. It also takes teamwork by agency partners. "Our clients partner with us to create great work," said Bob Case, chief creative officer for The Lavidge Company. "We don't aim for awards. We are smart, creative, fun and completely immerse ourselves in our clients' business so we understand how to position them effectively – awards end up being a spectacular benefit."

Client trust is critical to outstanding work. When clients are open to unexpected recommendations and groundbreaking ideas, it's a win-win. Whether it's increased sales or enhanced thought leadership, great relationships empower innovation, leading to work that brings in results and some awards and recognition too.

TLC was recognized with 10 ADDY awards across a variety of categories. The agency earned the top Gold award for Sun Devil Auto in the category Newspaper Print Campaign, titled "On the Road. On Budget."

Five Silver ADDYs were awarded to TLC for work in the Website category for the TGen Foundation and its MindCrowd website; Dole for the "Peel the Love" Sales Promotion Campaign; Republic Services for Sales Promotion Poster; and United Rentals for Animation in the Branded Content category.

The agency finished the night with four Bronze awards, again for United Rentals for Integrated and Multi-media Campaigns; Out of Home Campaign for McDonald's McRib and Logo Design for the agency's multicultural division, Mosaic Multicultural.

Held on Saturday, Feb. 22 at The Duce, the Phoenix ADDY Awards is the local advertising industry's largest and most representative competition. The mission of the ADDY Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

Cognitive Computing is becoming the foundation for a new generation of solutions that have the potential to transform business. It's easy to assume that your app will run on a fast and reliable network. The reality for your app's users, though, is often a slow, unreliable network with spotty coverage. What happens when the network doesn't work, or when the device is in airplane mode? You get unhappy, frustrated users. An offline-first app is an app that works, without error, when there is no network connection.

In most cases, it is convenient to have some human interaction with a web (micro-)service, no matter how small it is. A traditional approach would be to create an HTTP interface, where user requests will be dispatched and HTML/CSS pages must be served. This approach is indeed very traditional for a web site, but not really convenient for a web service, which is not intended to be good looking, 24x7 up and running and UX-optimized. Instead, talking to a web service in a chat-bot mode would be muc...
