Genieo is the personalized window onto the Web for millions of Mac users that learns user preferences

Over 300MM ads served on the Genieo platform

HERZLIYA, Israel, March 11, 2014: Genieo the easy to use newspaper-styled homepage, today confirmed that it is the preferred personalized homepage for millions of Mac users.

The platform is delivering over 100MM unique monthly page views, serving more than 300MM ads and the average Genieo user spends over two minutes reading articles every day.

Genieo's personal homepage, originally launched in 2010, was developed using proprietary algorithms based on Micro Behavioral Targeting, which automatically extracts user behavior, interests and preferences.

As a result, the user can create a personalized news portal, which collects content from various channels, such as news sites, blogs and social networks. The technology dynamically analyzes changes in the user's topics of interest, and frequently updates the portal.

Genieo has succeeding in doing something that the world's internet giants have long strived to achieve, by developing the only real personalized news content service that immediately learns the user's preferences while preserving the user's privacy. Genieo needs no configuration.

What's more, Genieo is a client-based newsreader that runs in the user's web browser, acting as the default start page, showing news and other information based on the user's interests. Once installed, Genieo goes to work and it gets better the more it is used, it is a learning engine.

Sol Tzvi, CEO, Genieo comments: "Genieo is changing the way we consume information. It is a client-based news reader that seeks to understand what you read, what your social circle finds interesting, and also helps you to discover new content. It does this all without any user input as it doesn't require any user preference settings, or keywords.

"It's also careful about privacy. Genieo disables itself whenever there is a financial service or payment, or any other type of personal content, maintaining personal privacy as a priority."

Genieo also delivers new revenue opportunities for publishers, advertisers and software providers.

Publishers can increase the prominence of content and make it easier to access directly by distributing a branded version of Genieo. This will help to increase the content's appeal to users, and develop user-loyalty.

Genieo's personalized content and unique user experience also attracts a loyal and active audience, offering advertisers an exceptional opportunity to target content according to the audiences' interests and intentions. This also ensures that advertisements will be more relevant to the user.

About Genieo Innovation Ltd
Genieo Innovation is the developer of a unique personalization experience that leans on Genieo's new proprietary technology. Its first product, Genieo, is a free personalized newspaper style homepage.

Genieo is available to partners; white-labeled and reflecting both users' interests and the partner's brand. Genieo's partners receive significant monetization options and increased website stickiness, and additional revenues from search and targeted ads. Genieo learns interests through user's online browsing behaviors, and then delivers a personalized homepage populated with content each individual cares about. Unlike services that require people to set preferences and manage inputs, Genieo users discover and enjoy a rich experience immediately following a one-time, one-click download, without requiring explicit intervention or customization. The Genieo application is stored locally; therefore all personalization is performed on each individual's device, ensuring the most stringent privacy. In addition, Genieo filters web noise, bringing users, in the words of PC World Magazine, "a newsy home page with content you'll actually want to see." Users who download Genieo are more productive as it zeros in on the news and social updates that are relevant to their interests, from the sources they prefer most. Genieo's personalization service works on PC, Mac or mobile devices. Founded in 2008, Genieo is a privately backed company headquartered in Herzliya, Israel.

What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...

Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. All of the major configuration management tools have cloud orchestration plugins that can be leveraged, but there are also cloud-native tools that can dramatically improve the efficiency of managing your application lifecycle. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, ...
Organizations planning enterprise data center consolidation and modernization projects are faced with a challenging, costly reality. Requirements to deploy modern, cloud-native applications simultaneously with traditional client/server applications are almost impossible to achieve with hardware-centric enterprise infrastructure. Compute and network infrastructure are fast moving down a software-defined path, but storage has been a laggard. Until now.
Serveless Architectures brings the ability to independently scale, deploy and heal based on workloads and move away from monolithic designs. From the front-end, middle-ware and back-end layers, serverless workloads potentially have a larger security risk surface due to the many moving pieces. This talk will focus on key areas to consider for securing end to end, from dev to prod. We will discuss patterns for end to end TLS, session management, scaling to absorb attacks and mitigation techniques.
Contextual Analytics of various threat data provides a deeper understanding of a given threat and enables identification of unknown threat vectors. In his session at @ThingsExpo, David Dufour, Head of Security Architecture, IoT, Webroot, Inc., discussed how through the use of Big Data analytics and deep data correlation across different threat types, it is possible to gain a better understanding of where, how and to what level of danger a malicious actor poses to an organization, and to determin...
Let’s face it, embracing new storage technologies, capabilities and upgrading to new hardware often adds complexity and increases costs. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Seth Oxenhorn, Vice President of Business Development & Alliances at FalconStor, discussed how a truly heterogeneous software-defined storage approach can add value to legacy platforms and heterogeneous environments. The result reduces complexity, significantly lowers cost, and provides IT organizations with improved efficienc...
CI/CD is conceptually straightforward, yet often technically intricate to implement since it requires time and opportunities to develop intimate understanding on not only DevOps processes and operations, but likely product integrations with multiple platforms. This session intends to bridge the gap by offering an intense learning experience while witnessing the processes and operations to build from zero to a simple, yet functional CI/CD pipeline integrated with Jenkins, Github, Docker and Azure...

Fact: storage performance problems have only gotten more complicated, as applications not only have become largely virtualized, but also have moved to cloud-based infrastructures. Storage performance in virtualized environments isn’t just about IOPS anymore. Instead, you need to guarantee performance for individual VMs, helping applications maintain performance as the number of VMs continues to go up in real time. In his session at Cloud Expo, Dhiraj Sehgal, Product and Marketing at Tintri, sha...
Containers, microservices and DevOps are all the rage lately. You can read about how great they are and how they’ll change your life and the industry everywhere.
