Advanced Circuits, Inc. announces the installation of a COBRA Hybrid Laser Via System at its facility in Tempe, Arizona.
With the installation of the COBRA Hybrid Laser Via System Advanced Circuits is now able to produce quickturn microvia HDI PCBs in-house, reducing production leadtimes by half.
Alex Chandy, Director of Operations at Advanced Circuits, Tempe Division said: “The COBRA laser will allow us to enhance our technology and reduce leadtimes in manufacturing complex PCBs requiring microvias and machining. Having both the UV and IR lasers on one platform will allow for the highest precision of these small vias and machining on every job in production.”
The Excellon COBRA Hybrid Laser System offers a large work area of 31 by 25 inches for those companies running larger panel prototypes and production PCBs. The system uses CCD vision for precise alignment to the inner-layers.
Advanced Circuits continues to invest in the latest technology for their customers and with $9 million of capital investment in the last year they remain the frontrunner in the quickturn PCB industry.

In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed cloud as a ‘better data center’ and how it adds new capacity (faster) and improves application availability (redundancy). The cloud is a ‘Dynamic Tool for Dynamic Apps’ and resource allocation is an integral part of your application architecture, so use only the resources you need and allocate /de-allocate resources on the fly.

As ridesharing competitors and enhanced services increase, notable changes are occurring in the transportation model. Despite the cost-effective means and flexibility of ridesharing, both drivers and users will need to be aware of the connected environment and how it will impact the ridesharing experience. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Timothy Evavold, Executive Director Automotive at Covisint, will discuss key challenges and solutions to powering a ride sharing and/or multimodal model in the a...
