Arcadia Signs Agreement with Amber Road to Streamline Global Trade Compliance and Supply Chain Visibility

Amber Road, a leading provider of global trade management solutions (GTM), today announced that Arcadia Group Ltd, the largest privately owned fashion retailer in the United Kingdom, has signed a worldwide contract with Amber Road for an integrated Global Trade Management (GTM) suite. With the Amber Road GTM suite, Arcadia plans to automate the company’s key import, export, supply chain visibility, and trade planning activities.

The Amber Road GTM suite is part of a larger, group-wide Global Supply Chain initiative at Arcadia designed to improve how the company manages the sourcing, manufacturing and delivery of its products, worldwide.

With well-known brands including Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, TOPSHOP, TOPMAN and Wallis, the Arcadia Group has more than 2,500 outlets across the United Kingdom and concessions in major U.K. department stores, as well as an expanding on-line business across all brands. Internationally, The Arcadia Group is expanding rapidly; the brands are sold worldwide through franchise partners in 38 countries, and delivering on-line to more than 110 countries. In addition to its successful and growing partnership with Nordstrom both within stores and on-line, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN have recently announced further expansion in the U.S. with five new fully-owned stores scheduled, with the second largest flagship in the world opening on Fifth Avenue, New York this Autumn.

The Amber Road solution will provide Arcadia Group with a fully integrated global trade platform, through which it can optimize global sourcing decisions, providing easy access to country-specific import and export regulations, and improve visibility over its orders and track international shipments. The solution will be implemented worldwide, enabling Arcadia to adopt best practices for trade across all its brands, across all territories.

Alda Andreotti, Arcadia’s supply chain director, said: “We chose Amber Road because it offered the most complete solution. No one else had the breadth of functional capabilities and depth of trade regulations, all in one integrated solution.”

Amber Road CEO Jim Preuninger said: “It’s always exciting to partner with a thought leader, and I would certainly put Arcadia in that category. They are yet another example of a company that is expanding its global trade. By deploying a single, integrated solution to manage all facets of global trade, across all its brands, across all geographies, Arcadia should maintain its market leading position. We’re eager to help them realize their global expansion goals.”

About Arcadia:

Sir Philip Green and his family bought and took Arcadia private in 2002, when it was predominantly a bricks and mortar UK business, with an on-line shopping portal in its infancy. Today, with around 43,500 employees, Arcadia has eight of the best known fashion and lifestyle retail brands on the UK high street, but has significantly developed its on-line and international businesses. With franchise partnerships in 38 countries, product sourcing in more than 50 countries, and on-line delivery to 110 – it is truly an international business. The Arcadia Group is a key player in the support and nurturing of young talent into the industry, both as a founder sponsor of the Fashion Retail Academy in London, and through TOPSHOP and TOPMAN as a major headline sponsor of London Fashion Week and New Generation – giving young designers the chance to show their Collections on an international stage.
