DETROIT, March 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Blaine Tucker, a contractor in Detroit, recently announced the founding of a new demolition company dedicated to reducing and reusing construction waste. According to Blaine Tucker, the new demolition company named "Detroit Salvage First" attempts to resell as much lumber as possible from demolished buildings, a plan first thought of by Constance Mckinney.
"There are a ton of buildings in Detroit that need to be demolished," says contractor Blaine Tucker, "But just because the buildings have to come down doesn't mean that the materials inside are no good."
Tucker says that his company bid competitively because reselling the salvaged lumber pads their profits. While other demolition companies send everything right into dumpsters, Blaine Tucker leaves demolition sites with stacks of lumber ready to be reused in new construction projects.
"Our plan is to win a lot of contracts by bidding below the competition and then making up the difference on the salvage end," says Blaine Tucker. "The plan is also to attract contracts from companies that really care about the environmental impact of their construction jobs."
Most demolition crews tear down buildings with rapid abandon, but Tucker's crews must carefully disassemble each structure that they demolish.
Blaine Tucker commented on the process: "It's true that the process takes longer this way, but there is less cost involved in operating heavy equipment, so the total capital costs balance out."
Detroit Salvage First demolition by Blaine Tucker is currently accepting contracts in the Detroit area.

IT data is typically silo'd by the various tools in place. Unifying all the log, metric and event data in one analytics platform stops finger pointing and provides the end-to-end correlation. Logs, metrics and custom event data can be joined to tell the holistic story of your software and operations. For example, users can correlate code deploys to system performance to application error codes. In his session at DevOps Summit, Michael Demmer, VP of Engineering at Jut, will discuss how this can...

Overgrown applications have given way to modular applications, driven by the need to break larger problems into smaller problems. Similarly large monolithic development processes have been forced to be broken into smaller agile development cycles. Looking at trends in software development, microservices architectures meet the same demands. Additional benefits of microservices architectures are compartmentalization and a limited impact of service failure versus a complete software malfunction. Th...
