Flatirons Solutions is pleased to present a case study with American Airlines on mobility in maintenance operations for civil aviation at the MRO & Operations IT Conference - Americas. Paul Saunders, solutions manager for aviation mobility at Flatirons Solutions, and Blair Gregg, managing director of Technical Systems Strategy for Maintenance & Engineering at American Airlines, will discuss American’s deployment of more than 1,700 Android and iPad tablets equipped with the TechSight/X Mobile IETP to technicians stationed around the globe. The presentation takes place Tuesday, March 18, from 2:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Miami.

Gregg and Saunders will discuss:
- The driving factors behind American’s mobile line maintenance program
- Why American selected the Android platform
- How American deployed tablets to hundreds of line technicians
- What the organization expects to achieve through use of tablets equipped with TechSight/X Mobile IETP to create Mobile Knowledge Centers
- Feedback from mechanics and regulators on the use of tablets for engineers
- How American is moving toward paperless operations
The case study demonstrates how Flatirons Solutions continues to further its mission to help aircraft operators, maintenance, repair, and overhaul organizations (MROs), and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) adopt electronic solutions for aircraft service lifecycle management so they can reduce dependency on paper-based systems.
By managing the entire aviation service lifecycle electronically, the mobile paperless solution for technical publications, job cards, and records management improves labor productivity, increases dispatch rates, reduces heavy maintenance span time, and helps to ensure real-time airworthiness compliance.

So, you bought into the current machine learning craze and went on to collect millions/billions of records from this promising new data source. Now, what do you do with them? Too often, the abundance of data quickly turns into an abundance of problems. How do you extract that "magic essence" from your data without falling into the common pitfalls? In her session at @ThingsExpo, Natalia Ponomareva, Software Engineer at Google, provided tips on how to be successful in large scale machine learning...
