2014 Is Musician Nicky Barot's Year

Musician Nicky Barot Has So Many Exciting Announcements That it Looks Like 2014 Is Sure to Be a "Hit"

LOS ALAMITOS, CA--(Marketwired - March 18, 2014) - Nicky Barot (www.nickybarot.com) is pleased to announce that he is close to signing to the newly formed record label, Soundmatch. Rob Taylor, the VP of Operations and Head of A&R for Soundmatch said, "Soundmatch is very excited that Nicky is planning to sign with us. We are currently working on his new recordings and fresh new songs for his next CD. Nicky is already creating a buzz on his own and is an artist to look out for in 2014. We are sure this will be Nickyʼs breakout year, and we are happy to be a part of it."

Another exciting achievement for Nicky was the recognition for his songwriting ability with the Pop song, Me, in the USA Songwriting Competition. Out of 45,356 entries in the competition, he was awarded first prize in the pop category. The competition included entrants from 107 different countries from all over the world. Winners were selected by a Blue Ribbon Committee of music industry judges including record label publishers, producers, A&R from Universal Music, Warner, EMI, Sony Music and other music professionals.

Nicky was also recently recognized for two songs as they were selected as finalists in the International Songwriting Competition. The first song "Me" was selected as a finalist in the Rock category and his song "Like There Never Was You" was selected as a finalist in the Adult Contemporary (AC) category. With almost 19,000 entrants, only roughly one percent of all entrants were selected as finalists. This is an incredible achievement, and Nicky is very proud of this recognition. All finalists' songs will now be sent to the ISC celebrity judges who will select the winners. The winners will be announced in April. You can view all the finalists and semi-finalists by going to http://www.songwritingcompetition.com/winners. Finalists are also included in the People's Voice, an online voting contest that allows the public to listen to all the finalists' songs and vote for their favorite. People's Voice is separate from, and in addition to, the winners selected by ISC's judges. The song receiving the most votes will be crowned the People's Voice winner, winning lots of cool prizes and bragging rights! Voting will take place from now until March 31, 2013. Nicky Barot released his EP, Me in 2013 and it was produced by industry veteran Mickey Jack Cones (Kelly Clarkson, Trace Adkins, and Jason Aldean).
