1World Online, an engagement applications, content and analytics platform company, has launched a beta version of its Reporter Dialogue Pack, a program that allows journalists to continue the conversation beyond the end of an article through a simple and powerful engagement and analytics tool. With this Dialogue Pack, readers will be able to add their opinions to embedded polls related to the particular article and see how others have voted on the same questions. With this feature, rather than through a customary comments section, readers will be more likely to participate in the conversation sparked by the article and feel that their opinion is equal to others.
Reporters chosen for the beta program will receive twice-weekly packs of simple-to-install polls based on timely news topics. Additionally, reporters will receive two free poll widgets (a chain of two to four poll questions) written specifically for the reporter to supplement specific articles from them. By adding 1World’s signature polling modules to an article, reporters can engage with their readers and receive real-time analytics on reader sentiment. The 1World Reporter Dialogue Pack will allow journalists to compare their readers’ opinions with the larger polling population by leveraging 1World’s active user base of more than 70,000 members and its syndication network of partner sites running polls and publishing poll results.
“1World’s vision has always been to get to the bottom of what people really think, and partnering with reporters to engage readers on the most timely and topical stories of today is a logical step in that direction,” says 1World’s editor-in-chief Michael Howerton. “By leveraging our real-time analytics offering, reporters will gain insight into public opinion, consumer sentiment, trends and behavioral intentions.”
This announcement comes after the recent launch of 1World’s Content Bundles, which will be the basis of the Reporter Dialogue Pack. The Content Bundles consist of the following elements that can be used to enhance or inform coverage:
- Article – an article on the biggest news stories of today; focused either on the news itself or on public opinion of an event based off of 1World’s intriguing poll results that serve as “News about the News”
- Infographic – an original and compelling image covering the topic in a visual manner
- Cool Factor Widgets – to ensure excitement and variety, interactive widgets such as maps are bundled as well
For an example of how these elements can work as an editorial product, see this recent example on the crisis in Ukraine click here.

Using new techniques of information modeling, indexing, and processing, new cloud-based systems can support cloud-based workloads previously not possible for high-throughput insurance, banking, and case-based applications. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, John Newton, CTO, Founder and Chairman of Alfresco, described how to scale cloud-based content management repositories to store, manage, and retrieve billions of documents and related information with fast and linear scalability. He addres...

Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. All of the major configuration management tools have cloud orchestration plugins that can be leveraged, but there are also cloud-native tools that can dramatically improve the efficiency of managing your application lifecycle. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, ...
