Seven years into their strategic partnership, SAS and Teradata continue to deliver innovative solutions for customers. UniCredit was the first organization to adopt and deploy the Teradata Appliance for SAS, Model 720, running SAS Visual Analytics to fully integrate data and analytics in a streamlined business process.

Monachino will highlight how UniCredit developed its program, addressing business needs in an integrated and highly governed environment. UniCredit is using the SAS and Teradata solutions to analyze its sales area and business network. More than 3,000 business and IT users of SAS software and solutions will attend the event March 23-26 at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington, DC. Monachino will speak on Tuesday, March 25, at 11:10 a.m. in room Chesapeake H-I.

Monachino will share the positive results UniCredit is already seeing from the SAS and Teradata deployment, including:

-- Making analysts more strategic with new discovery techniques.
-- Answering complex questions by delivering new insights quickly and efficiently.
-- Managing business needs in an integrated and centralized environment.

The SAS and Teradata combination enables UniCredit to explore and identify trends and patterns, helping the organization seize emerging opportunities, manage risks and make the right choices. The solution gives UniCredit the best answers to complex business questions in near-real time, providing new insights to analysts – and gaining productivity as well.

The Teradata Appliance for SAS supports SAS Analytics and connects users directly to their existing Teradata data warehouses. SAS Visual Analytics lets them quickly uncover patterns and trends from massive volumes of data and present insights rapidly, in graphical form, throughout the enterprise. Teradata BYNET adds analytic servers to provide rich new tools and algorithms to the Teradata analytic environment. The BYNET enables high-speed, fault-tolerant, warehouse-optimized messaging between nodes.

"Delivering a solution that streamlines the data to analytic insight process is critical for organizations. Together, SAS and Teradata developed and delivered this capability to the market, and we are delighted with the value UniCredit is achieving from the offering," said Elishia Rousos, SAS Senior Alliance Manager, Technology Portfolio.

"Our customers asked for appliance-ready offerings with quick time to value and low total cost of ownership. This is exactly what UniCredit is reporting," said Rick Lower, CA-AM, Teradata Alliance Director. "As our many shared customers realize increasing value to their organizations, we are confident that we represent the most formidable analytics alliance in the world."

SAS Global Forum will feature dozens of dynamic presentations by representatives of leading organizations, IT analysts and academic researchers across all industries. Teradata is a platinum sponsor of the event. Visitors can stop by Booth 26 to speak with experts and learn more about Teradata and SAS.

Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
