SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Regulatory Commission for Anticompetitive Trade Practices and Safeguard Measures published the Preliminary Resolution No. CDC-RD-AD-006-2014, dated March 13th 2014, via which it enforces provisional antidumping duties to all imports of steel bars and rods originating in Spain, in light of the investigative procedure for dumping practices.
The Commission determined applying provisional antidumping duties equal to twenty three per cent (23%) ad valorem over the imports of Steel Bars or Rods for concrete reinforcement pertaining to the tariff subheadings 7214.10.00, 7214.20.00, 7214.30.00 and 7214.99.00 of the Fifth (5th) Amendment of the Customs Tariffs of the Dominican Republic originated in Spain, exported by the Spanish company Metalurgica Galaica, S.A and/or its partner company MEGASA Siderurgica, S.L. The period of implementation for said measure will have duration of four (4) months, effective March 19th 2014 until July 19th 2014.
These provisions are based on Law 1-02 on Anticompetitive Trade Practices and Safeguard Measures and their Application Regulation. Also, they are in compliance with the norms and case law of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
